It Wasn’t The Best Hockey I Ever Saw . . . But it was a Game where Both Teams Left Nothing on the Ice, as the Defense & Goalies Used every Tool in the Play-Box to Keep the Other Team from Scoring.
Initially . . . The Game Was Billed By The Media As A War Between Canada & The United States Of America, which was Promoted by the Media as a Pseudo Political Grudge Match Between Nations, because of Trump’s Threatened Tariffs Against Canada, Along with Trump’s Slur to Make Canada America’s 51st State, which Invited Boorish Booing by Canadians at the Singing of the American National Anthem (First Game Of Two), which Further Invited Three Fistfights Right Out of the Box as the Puck was Dropped in the First Game . . . Within Seconds Of The Opening Faceoff.
To The Chagrin Of The Media Which Bent Over Backwards To Stir The Pot – There Was Bubkes.
There Was No Booing At Either Anthem (Nothing Appreciable Anyways) At The Opening Of The Second Game. And there was No Fighting, Not even Once During what was a Heated & Passionate Contest.
Americans Came Dressed As Patriots To Cheer-On Their Champions, Same as Canadians, who were Also Clad in their National Symbols, Many of Whom were Sitting Side by Side with Plenty of Beer to Go Around . . . And Guess What? Not One Fight In The Stands As Each Nation Cheered For Their On-Ice Heroes.
Either Team Could Have Claimed Victory . . . But Thursday Night Was Canada’s Night.
Canada Won The Game In The First Overtime Period, which Just as Easily Could Have Been an American Victory, if the Puck Had Bounced the Same way for the Americans as it did for Canada.

As Heart Breaking As It Was For The American Players . . . After the Game was Done, Both Teams Met at Center Ice to Shake Hands & Congratulate Each Other for a Great Game.

Nobody called you Anti-American. ALL honest Americans with half a brain still love the honest hard working Canadians we know. We are discussing politics. Great editorial Howard, I agree the anti American sentiment is growing in Canada but I will not support not buying what I wish no matter who makes it. This is making it more difficult for Poliviere but I will support him as I can because Carney is a Klaus/WEF/far leftist ass licker of the worst kind like Trudeau. Howard, when watching the News on TV and seeing that DELTA Airplane on the ground UPSIDE DOWN at Pearson Airport (Toronto) ~> that picture spoke Volumes. Because as I tell my wife Julie, this is the world right now: UPSIDE DOWN: Americans and Canadians at odds because of the Trump Administration? / Hamas taking Israeli hostages (incl. babies) and killing them because they were Jewish? / Where is the Outcry and the Outrage from the International Community? I wish Trump was more tactful. Especially when dealing with a good friend like Canada! I hope very soon he sees that he may well be using the wrong “lets make a deal” with Canada. I have no idea what he is actually trying to accomplish. He is, selectively, doing similar things in the USA. I am a dual citizen. I now understand why so many of my relatives in Canada do not like Trump. Casting a vote in Canada is a very parochial decision. What happens to the rest of the world outside of Canada (because of who you cast your vote for) is not a consideration and one has the luxury of selecting a candidate because of his demeanor or even his proposed policies for Canada. American elections are significantly more consequential. i.e. No CDN PM can influence the future of Israel/Gaza.

The art of the deal is “shoot for the moon” and hopefully get something close, which I’m guessing is Trump wanting stronger ties with Canada. I agree Trump is sometimes bombastic but he plays the long game, and usually 3 or 4 steps ahead of the other players. And who knows, Trump may have something he is working on to actually strengthen “ties” with Canada.
