Anne Did The Math, Taking into Consideration the Different Volume Between a US Gallon in Comparison to a Canadian Gallon, and the Difference Between the Cost of a US Dollar to a Canadian Dollar . . . Anne Found A Difference Of About $75.00 To Fill-Up Our Tank On Our F-250.
Maybe $75 Dollars Doesn’t Sound Like Much, but if we Fill Our Tank just 5-Times During our 5-Month Stay at Myrtle Beach, that Amounts to $375, Which Would Buy A Lot Of Groceries.
Pulling Our 41-Foot RV – Uses Approximately 10-Miles To The Gallon. Myrtle Beach is About 1,000 Miles from where we Live in Ontario. The Math is Easy . . . 1,000 Miles Divided By Ten Miles To The Gallon Is 100 Gallons – Or Roughly $800 Dollars Canadian.
Lucky For Anne & Myself, we Live About One Hour from the US Border, where we will Fill-Up Coming & Going, Which Will Save Us Quite A Bit Of Money.

Carney has changed the date of increasing his carbon tax to the end of January 2027 which would have increased an additional 10 cents/litre. Then what?? As far as voting for him, it was the elbows up TDS Lieberals who would rather see our country taxed into poverty than vote for someone who probably would have stayed at the bargaining table to hammer out a deal with our American neighbours . Their hatred for Trump is getting ridiculous. The hypocrisy is off the scale.
The average voter spends more time watching useless junk on tv than keeping himself informed on political and economic issues. Most of the year he is content to remain ignorant about political matters, then suddenly, as if by magic, two weeks before election day, he becomes an all-knowing genius determined to cast his vote for the winning candidate. This is called “democracy,” a system that inevitably devolves into a process that consumes itself by virtue of its inherent inconsistency.

All I know is, when politicians’ only course of action is to blame the leader of another country or jurisdiction for their own ails while their own jurisdiction burns, and this gets them eager support and boosted numbers in the polls from their own citizens, then the politicians are completely incompetent, they are definitely hiding something and the citizens are too dense to understand what is really going on.
You are correct, Howard. Canadian oil, mined in Canada and refined in Canada, then shipped in Canadian pipelines to shoreside terminals as export and domestic, would give us the honest reward. Our oil-consuming public should demand a new refinery and the many-promised pipelines instead of complaining and suffering. Demand worthy credentials from political candidates of any stripe and not just vote for Parties that promise much and deliver little.
When the twin towers came down on 9/11 Prime Minister Jean Chretien took Canada’s military into Afghanistan to go after the Taliban right alongside the Americans. Something a real ally and neighbor would do. Had Carney agreed with Trump saying Iran can never have nuclear weapons and offered him our support in any way we could contribute we’d have the best trade deal today ever. One thing Trump places great value upon is loyalty. But Carney didn’t and so we don’t and never will.

Indifference and ignorance may well be a huge factor in our midterms, though I pray not. As for your PM, I would posit that his primary interest isn’t Canada at all, but working to preserve the status quo of the old global order and Mark Carney’s position as a principal player in it. Look at the people on his staff. One of them, I understand, is a U.S. citizen.
In Canada were young people can not afford to buy a house, millions rely on the food bank the lib.gvt.is planning to build a high speed rail for $$ 90 BILLION but it can easy become 390 BILLION. 90% of Canadians will never use this train.It will be a bottomless money pit for taxpayers when they start using it.It duplicates the existing VIA rail from Montreal to Ottawa that has very low use.Thank you Howard for raising this subject.
With all due respect your Ford analogy to Germany is flawed. The Germans did rehabilitate their defeated country (w American tax dollars) & changed their ways. Even after his death and to this day (as per his will) the Ford Foundation (est 1936 in Dearborn MI) and the Ford Philanthropy Foundation (1949) with assets of over $17 billion continue to fund anti Israel NGOs as well as the BDS movement. I recall back in 1949/50 talks of an eastern pipeline. The main opposition was naturally from Canada’s nemisis, Quebec. I have heard that the Laurentian elite own a refinery in Levis Que. where they process Arabian crude.
