“CANADA IS A NASTY COUNTRY” . . . ACCORDING TO TRUMP:
Canada Is Not A Perfect Country . . . But At The Same Time, Canada Is Not A Nasty Country.
We Canadians Have an Earned Reputation as Being Pleasant, Polite, Civil & Generous, Not that we are Perfect, but I think we are Perfect Enough for Me to be Proud of my Nationality.
Like Many Of My Fellow Conservative Canadians, I also Feel that we Have Leaned Too Far Politically to the LEFT, but like a Fulcrum, Sooner Rather than Later, Canada will Swing Back to Conservative Values and a More Conservative Political Philosophy.
Many Within Canada . . . Myself Included, from Time to Time think that our LEFTIST Canadians are Too Often Smug About themselves, Much like the American LEFT thinks theirs Also Doesn’t Stink . . . Which Doesn’t Make Them Bad People . . . Just Objectionable To Me.
But Overall . . . Even With Many Of Our Canadian Foibles . . . We are a Good People, Not Deserving of the Insults, Untruths (Lies), Threats & Punishments that are Inflicted Upon Canada by President Trump.
I Won’t Really Go Into It . . . because I Doubt you will Take my Word For-It, But Canada Does Not Rip-Off America. And Up Untill Trump 2.0, Most Canadians Never Thought of America as Being an Adversary to Canada. We Were Friends & Neighbors Who Competed As Friends & Neighbors Do.
As A Matter Of Fact – Americans & Canadians Have Spent More Time Collaborating at Almost Everything, than we Have Working at Negative Outcomes.
IS TRUMP GOING TO DAMAGE OUR RELATIONSHIP BEYOND REPAIR?
Contrary To Trump’s Claims . . . Canada was Not a Real Player in the Smuggling of Fentanyl into America, as the DEA Confirmed, Nor Illegal Immigrants as Homeland Security Confirmed . . . And Taking Away the Many Billions of Dollars America Bought in Canadian Oil, Gas & Electricity at Heavily Discounted Prices . . . Canada Does Not Have A Huge Trade Surplus With America – Just The Opposite.
As A Conservative Canadian, I Have Been Championing Much of Trump’s American Initiatives, such as US Border Control, Reining-In Useless Government Regulations, Standing Against the Folly of Climate Change, Supporting Women’s Rights in Sports, No Men in Women’s Gymnasiums, Locker Rooms & Bathrooms.
I Stood (Stand) In Agreement With Trump’s War On Drugs, Deportation of Illegal Immigrants and his Belief that America Should be for Americans. And I also Thought that Canada was Not Paying our Fair Share in NATO . . . Not Much Different Than The European Deadbeats, Which Didn’t Make It Right.
If That Was The Worst Canada Did? . . . It was Wrong, Humiliating and in Dire Need of Correction. But That Doesn’t Make Canada A Nasty Country.
WHEN TRUMP RAN FOR THE 2016 PRIMARY . . .
Out of the Horde of Candidates Running to Lead the Republican Party Against Hillary Clinton, Trump was Near the Bottom of my List of Contenders, Mostly Because of his Mouth . . . I Did Not Like His Constant Verbal Flow Of Insults – It Just Wasn’t Right.
But Once He Won The Primary, I Wrote With Favor About The Policies Trump Proposed.
In Trump’s First Term . . . Against Remarkable Odds from Democrats, the LEFT in General, the Media, the Judiciary & Many Republicans (RINOS) . . . Trump Moved Mountains, while Setting America on a Better Course to Preserving America’s Constitutional Republic. I Still Believe Trump’s Initial Planks In His Platform Were Great.
But Something Odious Happened Right At The Beginning Of Trump 2.0 . . . His Rhetoric Became More Insulting, More Threatening, More Narcissistic & More Jingoistic, To The Point Where The World Began Taking Real Notice – Not In A Good Way.
NO MAN IS AN ISLAND . . . AND RESPECTIVELY – NEITHER IS A NATION:
If Trump’s Idea as a Street Fighting New York Developer – That The Art Of The Deal . . . Is to Pummel his Opponents Into Total Submission, Leaving his Adversaries Begging for Crumbs . . . Then He Is Doing It.
Just The Other Day, Before The Canada/Us Trade Negotiations Died . . . Trump Said – We Negotiated a Great Deal Between America, Canada & Mexico . . . “But We Got The Better Deal”.
Think About that for a Minute. I was Always Told, Including in University Commerce (Business) 101 . . . That The Best Deal, Is When Both Parties Come Away Happy.
How Does this New Intercountry Antagonism Help Either Canada or the United States of America . . . Especially when America’s President Refers to Canada . . . As America’s Fifty-First State, which Trump Brought-Up Again Yesterday?
I Love America . . . But if I Wanted to Live Full-Time in the United States of America as a Citizen, I would Move Heaven on Earth to Acquire a Green Card & Eventually Take the Oath. But I Was Born In Canada.
My Parents Were Born In Canada. Canada Gave Refuge to my Grandparents More than 100-Years Ago – When Few Countries would Accept Jewish Immigration . . . The Same Can Be Said About Anne & Her Family.
Why Would I Want to Leave or Surrender Canada’s Sovereignty, when Canada has Been such a Wonderful Place to Have Been Born and to Live?
That Is Not To Say, that One Day in the Future, Canada Could become an Unwelcoming Society, where Freedoms are Tossed Away or Decided by One’s Religion, Language, Gender Affiliation, Political Preference – Etc, where Emigration would be a Serious Option . . . But That Circumstance Has Not Yet Come.
Anne & I Have Already Made Plans, which Include Paid Travel Reservations to South Carolina . . . And Our 5-Month Stay At The Myrtle Beach KOA RV Park, From November 1 Until April 1 . . . And We Cannot be More Thrilled than we are to be Looking Forward to it.
Anne & I Are Blessed With A Huge Number Of Priceless American Friends . . .
IN-SPITE OF TRUMP’S BELLICOSITY TOWARDS CANADA . . .
That’s The Way Canada & America Were, And I Believe Still Are, And Should Always Be.
Best Regards . . . Howard Galganov

Wish Trump had kept his mouth shut a few years ago and that would have resulted in Poilievre as PM which would have resulted in a more symbiotic/ less confrontative cross border relationship between our two countries. Also, I am not so sure I agree with the fact that he is “pummeling” his adversaries. The IRGC in Tehran would beg to differ.
