A lesson to be learned from the Vietnam War. Americans have a short attention span and can’t tolerate long-lasting wars. This war should have been quick and over within several months. You are right about Trump, and I have used the same words with friends and family. His negotiators don’t understand the radical Muslim mindset in Iran, Gaza, or Lebanon. Does the US need Qatar? Does Europe need them? Then why are they involved in everything?
Howard, your observations are truthful and right to the point. I only hope that President Trump realizes that negotiating with Iran is going nowhere!
Since the 700’s, it’s been Islam against the world, and Islam is winning. They had most of the civilized world in their sphere, until Charles Martel beat them back. All they did was take a long look at the world, and begin again their conquests, until now, they’ve just about taken over Europe, the UK, almost all of the middle east. Trump just doesn’t understand the long game. Had he studied the history of Western Civilization, he’d understand that go to total war. Redo WWII. To the end.
So Pres. Trump is not instantly winning? Outside of destroying economic targets and infrastructure that would kill/starve civilians what course do you suggest? Before water plants, bridges, power plants, etc. are destroyed, shouldn’t a few tries at negotiation be attempted? I did not catch any alternatives for Pres. Trump to follow, only criticism.
President Trump has and is working miracles! He is solidifying the Middle East against Iran by exposing the issue Iran is for all of them while showing them what is possible if Iran could no longer threatens THEM. Iran has been helpful by firing on many of them while President Trump is demonstrating the wealth that is possible for them if the radical clerics and their proxies were neutralized. He is doing this in spite of opposition from those inside Washington who want him to fail!
