Repeatedly, Ford Referred to the Inseparable Personal, Corporate & Trade Relationships Between Both Countries, Just As Ford Repeatedly Asked . . . Why Is Trump Doing This To Canada, Especially Since Ontario is the Single Largest Consumer of American Services & Products in the World, Which Gives America A $40-Billion Dollar Trade Surplus?

Your editorial makes one THINK & ASK……….. I would like to see a PRINTOUT as to the tariffs AGAINST the US by EACH country then a PRINTOUT of the tariffs placed by the US. The he said, she said no longer appeases me. I want FACTS in black and white. That would put a lot of our questions to rest & perhaps give us MORE to question. There must be a BALANCE of equal value. And a damn good reason for EACH. God Bless.
I thoroughly enjoyed President Trump’s speech and the democrat party’s reactions because they could be part of the solution, yet they show they want the problems to remain, if not enlarge. I do not understand what the president wants from Canada with respect to the tariffs; Mexico I understand. Give the current culture, and political landscape – Trump IS the right man for right now – though he’s not perfect of course. Thank you, Howard, for what you do.

Perhaps Poilievre could improve things, who knows? Trump spoke very well but I’m upset about his targetting Canada. Perhaps what we “hear” is not the whole picture. What goes on behind the scenes? In 1962, Bob Dylan & Suze Rotolo left a Circus and they heard a Clown crying in the alley.
I want to thank President Trump for the kick in the behind as perhaps our politicians will finally do what they are paid to do: Make trade easier across Canada and build infrastructure to diversify our markets I think the tariffs are wrong, but we will survive and prosper long after Trump is gone.
Agreed, Trump is the right person at the right time to swing America away from the clutches of a massive leftist transition of the whole country. He also did a masterful job of installing brilliant and worthy department leaders. He should not have come after Americas closest neighbor and best friend like a thief in the night. Rightly so, the people of Canada are highly offended at this major slighting. At this moment Trump and the ignorant Shaun Hannity on FOX have very few friends in Canada.
Pres. Trump’s speech was impressive. Glad he didn’t continue to go after the Dems any more than a couple ‘digs’. I didn’t watch/listen to any more than 3-5 minutes of the Dem’s response. Typical anti-Trump rhetoric. I know little to nothing about the tariffs so won’t get into the fray. I’m so looking forward to some warmer weather, hopefully soon.

If you want to sell your products in the USA, then it better be built in America. He wants all the outsourcing in Canada and Mexico moved back to the USA Simple. America unto itself.
Trumps’s real reason for his problem with Canada is that Canada, as governed by universalist Liberals, want to destroy all countries and have one universal government. Canada is ruining the country because of these beliefs. Trump believes in many countries governing themselves. Trump is saying that he wants to take over Canada when it self destructs.
I do not understand President Trump’s harsh stance toward Canada. I wish he would throw his support to Pierre Poilievre in the upcoming Canadian elections. That, in my humble opinion, would be of great benefit to both our countries.

I still say that to trust Trump is to see the chance of a better future for America and Canada. Canada has really bad “leadership” now. We all know that Trump is not a perfect person but he is our president. He will make mistakes! I personally think his stance on Canada is one of them. But I do not think like Donald Trump does. He has only been commander and chief for 40 some days. I am willing to give him some time to play out his (hand) as he calls it. He is only showing a couple of cards yet.
