During The 2024 American Election, Trump Said Non-Stop, that if He was President of the United States of America, Putin Would Have Never Had Invaded Ukraine. In Spite Of What He Said – He Doesn’t Know That. And even if that was True, it Makes no Difference, Because That Was Then & This Is Now.
But Trump Also Said . . . Once He Wins the Election, He will Solve the War Between Ukraine & Russia Before He even Takes His Presidential Oath of Office. It’s Been 4-Months Since Trump Won The Presidency & The War Is Just As Bad Today As It Was 4-Months Ago.
Put All That Aside . . . Here we were Yesterday at the White House with a Room Chockablock Full of Trump Executive Cabinet Ministers, Officials Representing Both Countries (USA – Ukraine) and a Throng of Media, When Trump Did His Usual Bombast of the Great Deal He Made to End the War, Until Zelenksyy Made ONE Simple Comment/Question.
To Paraphrase Zelenksyy . . . Ukraine is Signing-Over HALF of all of their Rare Mineral Wealth to the USA, for America to Negotiate a Peace Treaty Between Russia & Ukraine . . . But what is the Guarantee or Security that Russia Will even Accept a Peace Treaty Once Zelenskyy Signs a Document Giving America Half of Ukraine’s Rare Earth Mineral Wealth?
That Seemed To Me To Be A Reasonable Question & Statement, Which Is Where JD Vance Came-In.
I Watched The Whole Debacle Live On Fox News As It Was Happening. Then I Saw it Several Times Since. Then I was Able to Get My Hands on a Word-By-Word Transcript of the Conversations, Because When I Heard Trump’s Version of Events, Plus the Lindsey Graham Version of Events, then the Spin of the Events on Fox News Shows . . . They Were Nothing Like What I Saw, Read & Heard Myself.
When Watching Fox News, Specifically Laura Ingraham, she was Almost Giddy with the Way Trump & JD Vance Punched-Out Zelenskyy . . . As If It Was The Greatest Thing Since White Sliced Bread.
I Turned-Off Her Show. . . And Instead Opted to Watch a New Series on Prime TV, the First Two of Eight Episodes on the Biblical History of the House of David (Goliath Slayer).
Once That Was Done, and Before Walking the Dogs, we Turned-On Gutfeld to See What he was Saying about the Debacle, And His Show Too . . . Was A Beat-Up & Humiliate Zelenksyy-Thon.
And I Was Thinking To Myself . . . What The Hell Is Wrong With These People?

I for one think that Zelenski is a problem. Did I like what I saw on life TV, no. But believe that Zelenski never has had the Ukrainian people at heart and only enriched and empowered himself and a select few. 100’s of thousands have died on both sides and the Ukraine has lost most likely a generation of young men and this war needs to stop. This war most likely would have been over if Zelenski’s hand hadn’t been forced by others several years ago.

Although Zelensky’s spoken English has improved dramatically since 2022, this type of conversation should have taken place behind closed doors with interpreters so that intonations/nuances would not get misinterpreted and lead to the disaster which occurred in real time on the world stage for all to see. I blame the VP for this fiasco and for inappropriately enabling Trumps DNA to kick in. I wonder if Musk was present. Perhaps he would have diffused the situation. I am still cringing. So sad
What I saw was ‘Z’ acting as if he should get whatever he wants. I personally thought he was SMUG. The bottom line, it seems to me, is to quickly stop the senseless killing of the people of the two countries involved in this extended conflict. There has to be some give and take in any negotiations, and some trust in the efforts of the negotiators to succeed has to be rendered. Who, but the US. has been financing the Ukraine? Who, but the US, wants to be the power that negotiates an end to the senseless warfare? What is the alternative?
We must have peace. I think Trump can cobble this back together. Because HE wants peace. And he wants the minerals deal. Trump can do it – and monster Putin knows it.

Howard, I believe you are mistaken on this issue. As a former Ukrainian Jew I am absolutely amazed why don’t people see what Zelensky and the entire Ukrainian political/business elite are doing. Their aim is to upstage Trump at the behest of the US Democrat party. The amount of US taxpayers money gone to Ukraine is staggering. Most of the money never reached intended purpose. It’s about time Elon Musk audited Ukraine.
I totally agree with Mr. Barkan. Zelensky went into the meeting knowing that this was to be a mutual signing of an agreement. The Democrats had a meeting with him prior to this and he played his part. Trump is correct, the U.S. is giving him a lifeline and he acted the fool.

I agree with Zafi Gamlieli and others on this thread. Trump is going to have to learn to make these deals behind closed doors and THEN have his scrum with the media to tell them the facts. This was a disaster for both sides.
Friday’s meeting at the White House with Zelenskyy and Trump fell apart with an offer to Zelenskky to return when he is serious about making peace. The unorthodox meeting was to show the media how Zelenskyy has been unwilling at previous meetings to come to agreement. It wasn’t pretty. It was gobsmackingly unprecedented in the annals of media coverage, but it just might work. Stay tuned for Act II of the Art of the Deal. If it works, it’s historic; if it doesn’t, it’s a disaster for Ukraine
