This PIECE OF WORK who passes for Canada's Prime Minister, might have achieved what I couldn't believe possible. He might even be worse for Canada than was Brian Mulroney.
Wearing my Sir George Williams University deep burgundy jacket gave me enormous pride. Here I was, a university student at Sir George Williams, a Montreal institution.
My apologies to Reed Scowen and Tommy Schnurmacher. They were both right. And it is far past the time for Canada to say bonjour to Quebec. And as long as the rest of Canada panders to Quebec, Canada is indeed not a real country.
What we have here is the most obvious type of pandering in a completely vain attempt to attract a Francophone readership that will never, I repeat, NEVER buy the Montreal Gazette.
In the 1970's, René Lévesque, Quebec's first Separatist Premier, used to say that Quebec should be as French as Ontario is English. I certainly didn't agree with him then, but I do now.
