I Would Do It Again . . . If I Did It The First Time

IF WHAT I WRITE BOTHERS YOU SO MUCH – READ SOMEONE ELSE’S BLOG:
I’M A CANADIAN, WHICH MEANS I DON’T GET TO VOTE IN US ELECTIONS:

Even Though I Don’t Get A Vote In American Elections – I Do Get To Share My Opinions.

I Opine On All Kinds Of Things, Mostly Socio/Political & Sometimes Economic. But Because I Have No Real Training in Economics & Nothing More than a Tertiary Understanding of High Finance, I More or Less Leave that Commentary to People who Know What they are Commenting-On, Which Doesn’t Mean I Can’t Smell A Financial Rat When The Odor Is Obvious.

I Won’t Debate The Nuances Of The Canada/US Trade Differences, Other than to Say, the Job of Canada’s Government (Prime Minister) is to Get the Best Trade Deals Canada Can Get. The Job of the President of the United States of America is to Get the Best Trade Deals the President Can Get for America.

But Neither Of Their Jobs Should Include Doing Harm To Each Other’s Economies. Nor Should their Jobs be to Threaten, Insult, Diminish, Ridicule, Exaggerate & Lie About the Other’s National Trade & Financial Position.

Canada’s Leaders Are  Neither Boy Scouts Nor Choir Boys . . . But We Have Limits.

For Example . . . Canada Has Soviet Style Produce Marketing Boards that Control Pretty Much Everything that is Dairy, Poultry, Eggs & Pork, Which As A Canadian, I Really Resent.

WHY DOES CANADA IMPOSE DRACONIAN TARIFFS ON SOME FARM PRODUCTS?

The Marketing Boards are in Existence in Canada to Support & Promote the Well-Being of Canadian Farmers, which Produce the Aforementioned Products, to the Point that Milk & Cheese in Canada Could Retail (Cost) for as Much as 4-Times What the Same Products Would Cost in the United States of America. Is That Fair? Not In The Least.

For Example – Eggs, Chickens & Turkeys Cost Substantially More In Canada Than They Do In America . . . So Where is that Fair to the Canadian Consumer and to the Canadian Family? It’s Not.

I Would Love To See The Marketing Boards Go The Way Of The Iron Curtain.

They Are Unfair, Draconian, Un-Democratic (There’s That Word Again), Un-Capitalistic and a Blight on Canadian Food Consumer Freedoms. But Politically, the Marketing Boards are a Winner, because Most Canadians Have been Brainwashed to Believe that the Marketing Boards are Socially Advantageous to the Well-Being of Canada. They Are  Not.

Truth Is . . . The Only Function of the Marketing Boards is to Keep Competition Out of Canada, so our Farmers Don’t Have to Compete.

That Said . . . The Amount of Trade in Marketing Board Products Between Canada and the United States of America is Minuscule when Compared to things like Oil, Gas, Electricity, Steel, Aluminum & Automotive Cars, Trucks & Parts, Amongst Other Things.

Canadian Tariffs Are So High On American Imports Because Of Canadian Marketing Board Food Products, that it Makes them the Perfect Bogeyman to Incite & Justify a Trade War Between the USA & Canada, Even Though in the Bigger Picture, the Trade of Dairy, Eggs, Poultry – Etc Between our Two Countries is Diminutive in Comparison to Where the Real Money-Is.

As Far As Trade Balances. Take Away Canada’s Discounted Trade to the United States in Oil, Gas & Electricity, which is a Tremendous Benefit to America – and Canada’s Trade Surplus Immediately Disappears & Falls Below America’s Surplus Over Canada.

That’s Right . . . America Earns More Money From Canada Than Canada Earns From America.

As Far as America Underwriting an Annual $200-Billion Dollars In Canada’s Economy . . . Says Who Else Besides Donald Trump? Because it’s Not Even Remotely True.

CANADA HAS PLENTY OF SELF-INFLICTED PROBLEMS:

Whether Canadians Realize-It Or Not, the Outlook for Canada Doesn’t Seem to be Full of Sunshine, as National & International Clouds are Forming Everywhere. And The Last Thing Canada Needs Now, Is To Be Treated Like A Wounded Animal Waiting For Our Best Friend To Swoop Down On Us Like A Vulture In Search Of Easy Prey.

CANADA IS NOT A REAL-ESTATE PROPOSITION:

We Canadians Are Far More Than Dollars & Cents On A Balance Sheet.

We Are A Collection Of Good People . . . who are Generous, Law Abiding, Compassionate & Loyal to Our Friends. We are Educated, Democratic (I Said That Word Again) and Non-Belligerent . . . But When it Comes to Dropping our Gloves to Fight Beside our Friends & Allies – No-One Ever Has To Wonder If Canada Will Be Leading From The Front Or Cowering In The Back.

We Are Not A Perfect Nation . . . But Which Nation Is Perfect?

IF WHAT I WRITE BOTHERS YOU SO MUCH – READ SOMEONE ELSE’S BLOG:

Galganov.com Is Free To Read & Comment Upon.

There Is No Cost To Read What I Write. There is No Cost to Comment on the Blog. There is No Cost for You to Email Me with Your Thoughts or Questions. And More Likely than Not, I will Read What You Email, And There Is A Good Probability I Will Respond.

Even Though There Are Thousands Of People Who Are In My Directory . . . And God Knows How Many People Read What I Write, there is Only a Handful of Readers who Actually Help Me (Financially) to Run the Blog to Do What I Do, Which is Fine, Since I Ask for No Obligations of Financial Help from Anyone, but It Seems that the people who Pay Nothing Have the Most Aggressive Attitudes when they Read Something I Write that they Don’t Like or Agree With.

LET ME BE AS BLUNT AS I CAN – IF I BOTHER YOU THAT MUCH – SHOVE-OFF!

I Used To Say When I Started This Blog . . . I Write For Me, Not For You.

That Was Then, and as the Blog (Galganov.com) Began to Grow Beyond my Expectations, I Came to Realize that my Responsibility was as Much to the People who Read What I Write as Much as it was to Myself, which Made Me More Cognizant to the Needs of the Readers. But Everything Has Limits.

So As Not To Make The Readers Of What I Write Uncomfortable Or Upset, I Actually Began to Somewhat Moderate My Opinions. But I Just Came to the Realization, That The Base Of The People Who Read Galganov.com, Read-It Because I Don’t Moderate My Opinions.

WHAT BROUGHT ME TO THIS CONCLUSION WAS SIMPLE:

If I Was An American With A Vote Last November, I Would Have Voted For Donald Trump.

If I Was An American Today, and if there was a Presidential Election Today, I Would Still Vote For Donald Trump, which Doesn’t Mean that I Agree with Everything Trump is Doing & Everything Trump Says & How He Says it, Because I am Deeply Offended by the Tone of His Words, the Untruths He Blurts Out as if What He Says Can’t be Verified, And The Insults That Fly From Trump’s Mouth Like Water In A Rainstorm.

I WOULD VOTE FOR TRUMP FOR A MULTITUDE OF REASONS:

His Overall Judgement Is Very Good. He Stands Like a Rock Against All-Comers who Have Hurt His Country, Cheated, Bamboozled, Stole and Did the American People Wrong. He is Courageous & Willing to Risk Everything He Has, Including His Life to Stand-Up to Bullies & Cutthroats. And He Certainly Has A Heart For The Non-Elitist People Of America.

Trump Is The Right Man For The Right Time In The Right Place . . . But That Doesn’t Make Trump Infallible. That Doesn’t Give Trump the Right to Bully, Tell Untruths (Lie), Make Wild Exaggerations, Insult at Will . . . And Not To Be Called-Out For It.

TRUMP IS NOT A MONARCH . . . SO DON’T MAKE HIM ONE:

Monarchs Belong In Europe & Arabic Lands, Where in Europe the Monarchy Has Become a Useless Appendage to Democracy (I Said That Word Again), While in Arab Countries, Their Monarchies Are An Impediment To The People’s Freedoms.

The Moment I Don’t Feel Comfortable Writing As I Actually Feel . . . About Trump or Anyone or Anything Else for that Matters, Is The Moment I Will Stop Writing.

I Realize that Many People who Get Angry at What I Write About Have No Idea of the Truth or the Nuances of the Truth as they See-It, Because their Passion in What they Believe Very Often is because that is What they are Told by the Media (Fox Included), Which Far Too Often Supersedes The Facts.

I Tell People Constantly . . . Even Though I Spend (Invest) a Crazy Amount of Time & Effort Researching What I Write About . . . Don’t Necessarily Take It As The Gospel, When Everyone Can Research For Themselves.

I Appreciate All The People Who Read Galganov.Com – But I’m Not About to Surrender My Principles for Audience Size or Number of Hits.

IF I Cower At Telling The Truth As I See-It, How Would That Make Me Different Than The Rest?

Best Regards . . . Howard Galganov

  1. You just wrote what free speech is all about. I am an avid Trump supporter. I know his bad language and insults. How many false injunctions, lies, unfounded impeachments has he suffered? How else do you get through these people’s rock hard heads with no brains? Do you want him to talk with a mouthful of marshmallows, or mallets? I want the very strong man I voted for who loves this country and is willing to give his life and fortune to save it – just like our founding fathers did!!!

  2. Howard, BRAVO!! Extremely well said. I tip my hat to you. Kenny

  3. It’s because you don’t mince words that I enjoy reading your blog. Please keep doing what you’re doing as long as you’re able to do it.

  4. You are right, I read your blog because you don’t moderate your opinions but write it as you think. I’m a Trump supporter, I voted for him and like yourself, I believe he’s the right man at the right place at the right time. But when he opens his mouth to speak, I cringe, and when he’s done, I always think to myself, don’t listen to what he says, just watch what he does.

  5. I stopped watching news a decade ago and read what I can. Do not moderate your opinions Howard, I and others appreciate the time you spend researching & writing I agree with you about Mr. Trump – he won and that’s that. He should focus on the work at hand and stop crowing about winning. I wish he wasn’t bombastic in speech, but he is. And insulting your allies certainly doesn’t seem like good policy to me. Thank you for doing what you do the way you due.

  6. Howard what a great blog, I am also a Canadian very big Trump supporter. For this very good blog today on the fifteen of this month I will send an increase in support Thanks again.

  7. Howard, just so you know, for the record (no, not The Beatles or Kingston Trio, hahaha)….I like the way you write and the way you express yourself. You’re a “straight arrow” as my Dad would say. I don’t always agree with you, but that doesn’t matter. I really enjoy reading your comments. And if some folks get annoyed or “bothered” – maybe it’s because the truth hurts. You keep writing and sharing your thoughts, Howard…and… MORE POWER TO YOU !!!

  8. THIS is why I respect you and continue to read and support your blog. You are the consummate journalist we all need and admire. You dig deep to give us truths we may not be aware of. You challenge us to dig deeper to find those same truths. Thank you for continuing to inform, to challenge, and to provide proof of your blogs.

  9. To thy own self be true and you are as we should be. My dad told me in a story that taught you should always verify before believing. I do my best to do that. There are entirely to many people who believe whatever they hear or read. Thank you for writing as you see the issues. Sometimes I agree and sometimes not. If I did not think for myself, I would be a jellyfish. We can occasionally disagree with you. That is part of the advantages of living in a constitutional republic! KEEP ON WRITING!

  10. I don’t always agree with you either, or other folks as well. That’s being human. On cost of things between Canada & USA is prices of prescription drugs are much different; same in Mexico. I’m just grateful my husband’s military career gave me insurance coverage that pays most of it. I feel there are lots of Americans who aren’t satisfied, no matter what. We will never please everyone & as I got ‘old-er’ I finally accepted that fact. Just keep on keeping on.

  11. You may not be an economist but you have common sense in spades. You can learn economics in school (sometimes) but you can’t learn common sense. I share your feelings about Trump because he is certainly better than any Democrat. I agree with most of his policies, except for his tariffs. I don’t approve of his behavior at times but he is best friend of Israel, terrific on fighting anti Semitism. In 2028, I’m for Ron DeSantis, best Governor in America

  12. Agreed with everything you said , except that if i had a future vote , it would be Desantis all the way. His record speaks for itself. There’s lots of propaganda on both sides of the border. Please keep telling both sides of the story. Seems to be akin to “ a lost art “ these days. Best of regards.

  13. 👍🏻 Excellent. Please tell us more of what you think of Carney and the direction in which he is taking Canada.

  14. You can’t control a person’s reaction to you or reaction to what you say. It is out of your hands. All you can do is be yourself and say what you feel. When I visit Galganov.com, I come here to view your comments and observations. Like most of your followers, Howard, I consider you a wise person who knows what’s really happening in this crazy world. Take it easy – but take it !

  15. What is it the younger set says, “You do you”? You doing that is EXACTLY why I follow here. I trust what you have to say and believe you always have the receipts to back it up. In agreement, most of the time, about Pres. Trump; tariff discussions tend to make my eyes glaze over, so keep out of it; and disagreeable people would only get a limited number of chances to find a civil tongue or suffer banishment if I were researching/writing/publishing a blog. Just a thought. Write on!

  16. I think you will probably increase your readership because you are a straight shooter. President Trump is fallible, that’s why God saved him in Butler, PA, so he could finish the task at hand, which HE placed on President Trump’s shoulders. So, carry on loudly, boldly and bravely.
