If The People Don’t Believe-It – It Isn’t True

CANADA DOES NOT NEED TO BEG . . . NOT TO BE BULLIED:
DON’T BELIEVE-IT FOR A SECOND . . . TRUMP IS PISSING-OFF THE WORLD:

Bullying The Crap Out Of Friends, Neighbors & Allies Only Breeds Contempt.

Would you Care How Rich your Neighbor was, if He Continuously Tells you that you and your Family are Stupid & Unworthy of Being His Friend, because You’re Not Rich Enough. And Even though you Each Contribute to Your Common Neighborhood as Best you can, You Don’t Contribute Enough Because He Contributes More?

I’ve Written This Often . . . Words Have Consequences & People Have Long Memories.

I Try As Hard As I Can To Support Donald Trump For The Good Things He’s Done, In-Spite of the Many things He Has Also Done that Have Really Pissed-Me-Off, Only Because I Can’t Imagine What Life Will be Like if the Democrats Came-Into Power . . . But There Are Limits To How Much Even I Can Take.

I Have Canadian Relatives who Have Been Planning a Mid-Winter Get Away to Somewhere Warm, who Had a Problem Deciding Where to Go . . . But Not Where Not To Go.

Even though these Relatives Live Close to the American Border, and Have Vacationed for Most of their Lives in the United States . . . For Them – The Insulting Mouth Of Trump Was Reason Enough Not To Go To America This Winter.

If You Think Words Don’t Have Consequences . . . Tens of Billions of Dollars are Being Lost by American Businesses, Many Mom & Pop Businesses, Because Canadian Winter Travelers Are Reluctant To Vacation In America.

In Spite Of Trump’s Words . . . Canada Is Not A Nation Of Losers & Rip-Off Artists.

We Are A Proud People Who Have Always Paid Our Way. It is Certain that Canada Has Had Plenty of Bad Politicians, just as Had America, But That’s Our Problem. Sure, we Didn’t Pay our Fair Share into NATO, but Neither Did Much Larger, Wealthier & More Powerful Nations than us, who are in the Crosshairs of the Russian Empire.

Trump Accused Canada Of Shirking Our Duties In Afghanistan, By Hiding Away Behind the Walls of our Compounds . . . Tell That to the Many Canadians Who were Wounded & Incapacitated for Life, While Many Canadians were Killed in the Line of Duty in Places like Kandahar.

I Know This For A Fact . . . I Had Neighbors Who Watched their Comrades Die Right Before them in Suicide Bomber Attacks, RPG Attacks and by IED’s. I Attended Memorials for Canadian Soldiers who Died on the Battle Fields of Afghanistan.

For Trump To Suggest That Canada Didn’t Sacrifice In Afghanistan Is Nothing Short Of Shameful.

Trump Cannot Keep Insulting Me & My Family With Impunity & Not Expect Consequences Down The Road. He Can’t Keep Taking Food Off My Table, so My Family will Have Less to Eat, as He Makes a Spectacle of Gorging Himself, While My Children Feel Fortunate Just To Eat Hamburger Helper As A Result.

AND NOW A $6.4-BILLION DOLLAR BRIDGE BOUGHT & PAID-FOR BY CANADA:

Canada Paid $6.4-Billion Dollars (100% Of The Costs) . . . while Employing an Army of American Workers Along Side Canadian Workers to Construct the Gordie Howe International Bridge Connecting Detroit Michigan to Windsor Ontario, Perhaps the Most Commercially Travelled Border Corridor in North America . . . And Trump Wants America To Own Half, Because in Trump’s Opinion, Canada Owes America at Least that Much, For Not Being Sufficiently Respectful To America.

I’m Not Going To Rehash The Litany Of Trump Insults To Canada & The Canadian People, Other than to Say . . . Trump’s Words are Hurtful, Harmful, Non-Constructive, Corrosive & Becoming Ingrained in the Canadian Psyche . . . None Of Which Is Either Helpful Or Good.

And Now That The  Gordie Howe International Bridge Is Scheduled To Open Soon. . . Trump Has Pledged to Keep the Bridge from Opening Until Canada Agrees to Give Half of the Bridge Ownership to America . . . In Trump’s Own Words . . .

“We Will Start Negotiations, IMMEDIATELY. With All That We Have Given Them, We Should Own, Perhaps, At Least One Half Of This Asset”.

I DO NOT HAVE A SAY . . . BUT IF I DID – I WOULD SAY . . . SHOVE-IT!

If You Don’t Want To Open This Magnificent International Bridge That Canada Paid-For In Its Entirety, while Employing American Workers in the Process, that will Create a Faster & Easier Travel Route Between One of the Most Used & Congested Border Crossings Between Canada and the United States of America . . . DON’T!

In Three Years’ Time . . . Trump Will Not Be The President Of America. Canada Can Wait Three Years.

CANADA DOES NOT NEED TO BEG . . . NOT TO BE BULLIED:

I Have Always Felt At Home In  America . . . Wanted & Appreciated.

I Love The American People, who in Essence aren’t all that Different from the Canadian People . . . But Enough Of Trump Is Enough. This Doesn’t Change the Way I Feel About America or the American People . . . But It Significantly Changes The Way I Feel About Trump’s Government.

I Had Huge Hopes for Canada/America Relations with the Election of Trump – How Could I Have Been So Wrong?

WHY THE DEMOCRATS MIGHT SWEEP CONGRESS IN THE MIDTERMS:

No-One Likes A Bragger Or A Bully . . . And a Runaway Stock Market Means Very Little to People who are Pissed-Off, same as How Many Wars Trump Keeps Reminding Everyone that He has Stopped, Except the Two Big-One’s (Russia/Ukraine . . . Israel Versus The Arab/Persian World).

Like It Or Not . . . Most People Vote With Their Hearts – Not Their Minds.

The Fact that the Democrats Have been Sweeping Gubernatorial Races, Big City Mayoralty Races & Congressional Races this Late in the Midterm Electoral Process, are Not One-Off Flukes. They Are Harbingers Of Election Results To Come.

Every Time Trump Makes Another Grandiose Gesture . . . Whether He or His Rich Friends Pay for it Themselves or Not, Like the Renaming of the Kennedy Performing Arts Center, the Tear-Down of the East Wing of the White House to Build Trump’s New Opulent White House Ballroom, the MMA Fight Scheduled to be Held on the White House Lawn . . . Those Things Resonate With the American People. And Not Necessarily To The Advantage Of The Republican Party.

I WORRY ABOUT A DEMOCRAT MIDTERM VICTORY – LET ALONE A POSSIBLE SWEEP:

If Trump Loses Just One Of The Congressional Chambers . . . The Fat Lady Would Have Sung.  Make No Mistake About-It . . . Trump Will be on Every Ballot Where there will be a Choice Between a Democrat, Republican or Independent.

DON’T BELIEVE THE PROPAGANDA ON EITHER SIDE OF THE AISLE:

Most Americans Are Not Financially Comfortable . . . Most Americans Struggle from Week to Week just to Get-By. A Great Many Americans Have Little to Nothing & Don’t Give a Rat’s Ass About the Trump White House Largesse, When they are Worried About Where their Next Meal will Come-From.

The People Don’t Care If The Economy Is Great For Some. They Care if the Economy is Good for Themselves. They Don’t Care How Much Wealthier the Wealthy Become, and How Much More Powerful the Corporations Become, if the People are Having a Hard Time Finding Jobs, Putting Food on the Table, Keeping a Roof over their Heads, Raising their Families . . . Or Even Being Able To Afford Starting A Family.

The People Don’t Care That Trump Inherited A Horrible Economy . . . That was Yesterday . . . What About Today? Just Like the People Don’t Care which Country Trump is Bullying, Insulting or Shaking-Down . . . They Only Care About What Is Happening Between Their Borders.

It Is Not A Foregone Conclusion The Democrats Will Win – But It Is Far Too Close For Comfort.

Best Regards . . . Howard Galganov

  1. Well said. I to am disappointed in what Trump has said about our commitment to Afghanistan but threatening to block the Gordie Howe bridge is a little too much.

  2. Last night I read the term “Maple MAGA” which is to say a Canadian who supports Trump. I thought there were probably plenty of them in Trump’s first term but not anymore because Trump has offended Canadians with his talk of Canada being the 51st state and imposing tariffs. He is destroying the great relationship Canada and the US have always enjoyed. While I have been MAGA in the past, I’m not much these days. I don’t like Trump much anymore.

  3. One of the worst traits a politician (or anyone) can have is taking themselves too seriously. I am a supporter of Trump. He has done and proposed many great things, more than many of the other losers that make it to office, even here in Canada. But there is always a point of going too far or taking yourself too seriously and not knowing when to stop. In many instances I think Trump is unfortunately on that track (for Canada and US). However, Canada I think can use some growing up too.

  4. I, too, am very disappointed in Trump’s rhetoric. Somebody needs to get his ear and tell him to stop being a jerk. I am thankful we don’t have another 4 years of a Democrat running this country into the ground, but Trump is sabotaging himself, this country and his legacy. He had better wake up and fast.

  5. Virtually every congressional Democrat is a pathological liar. Equally as bad, they stick together like a pack of hyenas eyeing a hapless victim. They vote as a Soviet-style collective, relegating individualism to a meaningless afterthought. Knowing this, one would think that the average American would prefer a bombastic loudmouth to a cunning and corrupt scoundrel. Too bad so many vote with their hearts and not with their brains. They’re going to pay a horrific price for their ignorance.

  6. Things have a way of coming around. I’m still a hard right Canadian conservative and can no longer support him. He’s just not a fair man. Not only is his mouth going to rattle republicans , in the midterms , but in all likelihood guarantee a Canadian liberal majority in our next federal election. Thanks alot. Americans don’t realize the pain they will also encounter if cusma is cancelled. PS: i’m tired hearing about his book that any sleazy used car salesman could have wrote.

  7. Well my take is a bit different. I put most of the blame for the current poor relationship between our 2 great countries, on our Globalist/Marxist Prime Minister Mark Carney! He has done everything to denigrate President Trump, and therefore owns this. Carney would rather see Canada’s economy suffer than negotiate with Trump. I believe this is all political – Carney using boogman Trump again, to scare Canadians so he can call a snap election and maybe get a majority. Carney is pathetic!

All This Trump Crap Happened Long Before The Election Of Carney. And Believe me When I Write That I Am No Fan Of Carney – HG:

  8. We used to live on the Montana/Canada border. We watched Canadian TV and we used Canadian money interchangeably with US money. Decades later, I still have a hard time thinking of Canada as being a completely different country. People who live up on the border probably still feel the same way. I wish we’d stayed up there! The Arizona/Mexico border is a whole different ballgame. We were so shocked that they wouldn’t accept Canadian money. Canada is civilized but Mexico is not!

  9. The hate for Canada I believe began with our former Prime Minister Trudeau. Trump will never ever forget his comments about him by Trudeau and will continually take it out on Canada. Who knows maybe an apology by Trudeau might help, somehow I doubt it but maybe, a start.

  10. I was right about Trump in 2016 (big fan before most other people I know) and I was right about Trump in 2024 (not a fan). I wanted DeSantis as the Republican nominee but events and Democrat lawfare conspired to make Republicans circle the wagons around Trump and it was not to be. For the record, I believe DeSantis would have been just as pro-Israel as Trump is (or is he?) and [DeSantis] is a much better manager – the best executive in US government today.

  11. I agree with Misters Jackson, Bos and McLean just as much as agree with much of what you laid out too Howard. But Canada has made its own bed as to our world standing. As a nation we are akin to being children with British parents and an American older sibling that provides opportunities to us.Ive never understood why we leave our vast wealth of resources firmly in the ground.Wealth = Power and so we have neither. Our citizens and governments insult America the hand that feeds us.Theyve had enough

  12. ‪Canadians disproportionately paying for “a bridge” highlights the astounding hypocrisy of still not being able to see this from the American POV. How does it feel for Canadian taxpayers to shoulder a disproportionate share of “something” that benefits both nations? It’s unfair, right? Now imagine that same frustration felt by Americans, compounded over decades and across multiple countries. ‬

  13. The problem with the war of words can be placed right at the feet of the Canadian voter. The majority of you idiots chose to get your feelings hurt by truth & fact letting the liberals & the weak spines vote in a communist & his cronies actively trying to destroy your country. I do not agree with a lot of the “word” war but do not try & put it all on Trump. Ur own friends/citizens sold out ur country just like the demorats are trying to destroy America. Ur country is doomed if you dont change

  14. Hey Mister Kenneth Lee: your words against us Canadians is misplaced. Look up the time Canada opened all our airports during 9/11 so American airplanes could land safely. Look up the “Canadian Caper” whereby Canadians rescued Americans held hostage at the American Embassy in Iran. I’m not trying to polish our medals, but Canada has been a good friend to the United States. A country that I still love – in spite of you !!!

  15. I echo the words BRAVO. Thank You Allen Nutik (Ont) and Bruce Sutton (QC).

  16. Quoting: How Could I Have Been So Wrong? Recall covid years. “Safe & Effective” fooled many to take mRNA shots, labelled now a killer BioWeapon. 85% Canadians duped, don’t feel bad & blame yourself. We should have learned from that experience, seems we haven’t. We liked Trump #1; Trump #2 has been negatively different. The House & Senate in jeopardy. Trump 2 will soon be rendered powerless. We shall have snow, & what will poor Trumpy do then? He’ll sit in Mar a Logo. You know the Robin p

  17. Canadians are staying away from U.S. visits in droves since Trump’s obnoxious remarks began rolling out. Its not just the sunny south vacationers that are going elsewhere, its the short holiday, cross boarder shoppers too. Thousands of businesses in Northern U.S. states are suffering. Understandably, people in these areas won’t be voting for Trump the mid-terms. Consequently the House and the Senate will likely be lost and the frenzied impeachment hearings will begin anew.
