PEOPLE MY AGE (BOOMERS) GREW-UP IN THE ERA OF THE COLD WAR:

Even Though The World Powers (USA Vs Russia) Weren’t Lobbing Rockets At Each Other From The Outset Of The Cold War (1947 – 1991), Their Proxies were Doing it for them Throughout the World, Most Notably In Southeast Asia (Vietnam).

For People Who Don’t Know . . . The Cold War Wasn’t Just Fought Between the Two Superpowers in Foreign Lands, it was Also Fought on American Soil, Right in the Heartland of America, as Russian Operatives “Juiced-Up” the American Population on College Campuses. The Worst Case Was Kent State (May 4, 1970), where Four Students were Shot Dead, With Nine More Being Wounded By The Ohio National Guard.

It Wasn’t As If During Those Heady Days Of The “Love Generation”, the Hippy Culture with the Explosion of Drug Use Amongst College Students that Led to Daily Riots & Street Demonstrations Against the War in Vietnam & Sticking-It to the Man . . . Happened In A Vacuum.

Even Back Then In The ‘70’s . . . Russian Operatives were Hard at Work in America & Around the World Destabilizing Governments, while Planting the Seeds of Discontent & Communism in our Academic Institutions to all Age Groups.

Ronald Reagan is Credited with Ending the Cold War with His Strategy of Star Wars & His Famous Line Delivered at the Brandenburg Gate (Berlin) On June 12, 1987 . . . “Mr Gorbachev – Tear Down This Wall”.

In Reality, President Reagan Deserves Enormous Credit For Helping To End The Cold War . . . But it was More than Just Ronald Reagan. It was the Images Carried on Russian TV, that Showed the Rioting American Students Fighting with Truncheon-Carrying Police . . . The Unintended Consequences Of Those Images Also Showed Much More Than That.

THEIR OWN PROPAGANDA DID THEM-IN:

The Images The Russian People Saw Beyond The Street Violence . . . Were of Stunning Modern Buildings in the Background, Including Modern Apartments, Beautiful Homes, Finely Cultivated Lawns, a Never-Ending Slew of Restaurants, Retail Boutiques, Brand New Shiny Cars of all Makes, Models & Descriptions Parked Along the Streets . . . And Amongst So Many Other Things . . .  Well Dressed Demonstrators.

These Were All The Things No Average Russian Citizen Could Ever Dream Of Having, But The Americans Had It All . . . There was Certainly Something Very Wrong with the Picture, which these Images of Wealth in America Portrayed to the Average Russian Living in Impoverishment.

Reagan Forced Russia To Spend Itself Into Poverty, to the Point where Russia Had No Choice Other than to Capitulate to America . . . The Russian Alternative Would Eventually Become A Revolution.

But That Said . . . Even Though Gorbachev & Subsequent Russian Leader Boris Yeltsin Wanted to Carry-On a Period of Perestroika (Reform) & Glasnost (Openness) in Russian Politics, Giving the Russian People More Freedoms to Speak-Out, Travel & Participate in Capitalist Commerce . . . Marxism Was Never Far Away – Then Came Putin.

NOTHING HAS CHANGED. JUST THE DATES & THE PLAYERS:

Putin Wants To Re-Establish A Semblance Of The Iron Curtain . . . And the Former Greatness of the Russian Empire, as if it was ever Really Great, which Could Become a Nightmare for Much of Europe (East & West) if Russia Could Ever Go Beyond Ukraine . . . But I Don’t See That Happening.

I See Russia as a Paper Tiger in the Throes of National Demise, as Putin’s Dream of Russian Re-Dominance Over Eastern Europe will Lead the Russian People to Despair & Revolution. I Doubt Very Much if Putin Wants to Go to War with NATO, Considering Russia Can’t Defeat a Country a Fraction of its Size.

The Moment The Money Dries-Up . . . So Does The War Against Ukraine & Goodbye Putin.

CHINA IS A HUGE THREAT TO THE WEST – BUT MAYBE NOT THE WORST:

I Worry A Great Deal About Islamists Who Are Financing The Enemies Of Freedom From Within.

Sure It Sounds Great That Saudi Arabia Is Modernizing. But Are They?  Is there Freedom of Expression in the Arabian Kingdom? Are Women Equal to Men, or are Women Still Subservient to Men? Can any Religion Practice & Proselytize Freely in Saudi Arabia? Are Immigrants who Work in Saudi Arabia Treated with a Modicum of Equality & Respect?
