PEOPLE ARE HURTING WHILE THE POLITICIANS ARE PLAYING POLITICS:
As Sanders & AOC Tour America Slamming The Millionaires & Billionaires . . .
If I Hear More About Millionaires & Billionaires Being Responsible For Hard Times, I Might Want To Puke, Especially When One Considers that Politicians Like Bernie Sanders who is a Millionaire, and the Likes of Alexandria Ocasio Cortez who Plays the Political System for all She’s Worth, as Uber Wealthy People Finance her Shenanigans, Would Be Laughable If Not Sad & Outrageous.
A POX ON ALL OF THEM!
They Make Grandiose Speeches. They Scream, Rant, Accuse & Rail Against the People who Grease the Wheels of the World of Business, who Risk Fortunes to Innovate, Create Products, Offer Services & Dedicate what should be a Normal Existence to Commerce, which Employs People in all Realms of Life.
Without Millionaires, Billionaires & Aspiring Entrepreneurs . . . There Would Be Nothing.
MILLIONAIRES & BILLIONAIRES DON’T PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE! OH YEAH?
The Top 1% Of American Earners Pay 26% Of The Entire Budget For 99% Of The American Public.
People Earning More Than $100-Thousand Dollars/Year Pay 72% Of All Taxes Collected By The IRS. Have you Ever Known of a Poor Person, a Person on Welfare or a Union that Created a Job or Gives Corporate Sustenance to any Member of Society from their Own Pocket?
Who Is More Important – He Who Collects The Garbage, Or The Politician Who Spews The Garbage?
I Can Live Without Most Politicians . . . But I Cannot Live Without the Man or Woman who Collects the Garbage, which Extends to the Company Owned by the Garbage Collector or the Corporation that Pays for the Work of the Man or Woman who Collects the Garbage. Either Way – For Me . . . It’s A No-Brainer.
But That’s Not All Of It . . . Besides the Huge Amount of Money the Wealthy Pay in Income Tax . . . The Wealthy Also Pay an Incredible Amount of Money in Sales Taxes, Considering Most Rich People Are Consumers Of Expensive Things.
THINK ABOUT THE JOBS CREATED BY THE EXCESSES OF THE WEALTHY:
The Wealthy Also Pay Inordinate Property Taxes & Taxes Many of us Have Never Had to Deal with. If it Wasn’t for the Wealthy who Keep the Wheels of Commerce Spinning, which Creates Employment . . . How Would The Working Class Survive? . . . And Without the Income of the Working Class . . . Who Else Would The Government Be Able To Live Off-Of?
“THOU SHALL NOT COVET” . . . THERE IS A REASON FOR THIS COMMANDMENT:
The Next Time You Think Of How Unfair It Is . . . That Some People Live in Luxurious Homes, Drive Incredibly Expensive Vehicles, Fly First Class or on their Own Private Jets, or Eat at the Most Expensive Restaurants, Sleep in the Most Posh Hotels or Resorts . . . and Luxuriate on Cruise Ships or Personal Yachts, only the Rich Can Afford – And You Can’t – Think About This . . .
Think About The Millions Of Jobs . . . that Were Created to Build all the Aforementioned, and the Millions of Additional Jobs Created to Maintain What is Owned by the Wealthy.
Think About The Millions Of Products The Working Class, and Even the Poor Class Can Either Afford or Have Access-To, because Some Wealthy Person or Corporation Made it Possible.
BARACK OBAMA SAID OF PRIVATE INDUSTRY – “YOU DIDN’T BUILD THAT”:
The Next Time You Cash A Paycheck . . . Understand Two Things . . .
That Paycheck, Even if it was a Government Check, Came Originally from a Private Entrepreneur, since the Government Creates Nothing But Debt. And Without the Tax Money the Government Takes Initially from the Entrepreneur . . . The Government Has Nothing.
THE NEXT TIME A LEFTIST DEMEANS THE WEALTHY – THINK OF THIS:
I Can Live Nicely Without Bernie Sanders & AOC. But I Can’t Live Without The Garbage Man.
I Am No Apologist For The Behavior Of The Wealthy, since there are so Many Men & Women of Wealth who are Not Nice People. But I Can Say Exactly the Same for so Many People who are Middle Class or Poor.
Yes . . . Amongst The Wealthy There Are Cutthroats, Cheats, Liars & Thieves . . . But at Least they Contribute, even if their Contribution is of Self Interest. However, Amongst these Wealthy Entrepreneurs there are Many Great things Built that Contribute to all – Such as Hospitals, Universities & Charity Centers.
EVERYONE GETS A PAYCHECK:
Even Self-Gratifying Indulgences Of The Wealthy, like the Ownership of Sports Teams . . . are Replete with Revenue for the Working Class who Participate in Sporting-Team Endeavors from the Lowest Levels to the Most Executive. The Same Cannot Be Said About Our Political Class.
SHOULD THERE BE RULES TO GOVERN THE EXCESSES OF THE WEALTHY?
There Should Be Rules To Govern The Excesses Of All Endeavors, Regardless of Wealth & Position. I Remember in my First Year at University, the Commerce Professor who Taught Business (Economics) 101 Asked of the Class . . . In The Competing Worlds Of Business & Politics – Which Of The Two Are The More Ethical & Trustworthy?
Basic Statements Like That Simple Question More Than 55-Years Ago, which at the Time Held Very Little Interest for Me, Generations Later, Helped Shape the Thinking I Try to Pass-Forward in all the Things I Write.
I WISH I WAS WEALTHY . . . I AM NOT – BUT I AM GRATEFUL:
The Next Time An Elitist Lambastes The Wealthy – Just Remember – Who Gives & Who Takes.
Best Regards . . . Howard Galganov

My subcontracting firm was working on a house for a billionaire. It was 30,000 SF and cost $20 million. My first wife asked if that was too much, and I responded that this opulence paid for her lifestyle. Hundreds of very skilled artisanal craftsmen worked on that house and earned wages above what the common construction worker earned. When the wealthy spend on what others call extravagance, trickle down works.
AMEN!!!
100% truthful. As a tax-paying conservative entrepreneur, I want my foxhole buddy to cover, not covet, my ass.
I agree with what you say about the wealthy. My issue is with those few wealthy ‘elites’ who believe they KNOW what’s better/best for others below them & have the right to force them to live accordingly. Mind I said “those few” — a handful (Schwab, Soros, Bill Gates, & Bernie for instance). Those elites who go about their lives, leaving everyone else to do the same, are no different than the rest of us, just wealthier. One of my good friends is a millionaire & “stays in her lane.”
Excellent column!
And then there are the poor politicians who spend a few years in Washington and retire in a multi million dollar mansion on Martha’s Vineyard. I’m looking at you, Obama! Never created a job or a business or anything else that was benefit to ,man’s advancement. Where does all that wealth come from for the thousands of Washington insiders?
Howard-That was one of your best I have ever read.
I don’t know why, but I received both this Editorial and April 22 today, April 24! Re the first: just want to say that editorial was SUPERIOR on every issue. I 100% agree. It should be put on billboards in every US state! This editorial is superior and spot on. I don’t covet my wealthy friends’ nor stranger’s wealth. I will never have wealth like them;at age 81, I look back on my life and am beyond grateful to have fulfilled my purpose, my passion to teach in public high school.
