Obama Is . . . And Was 100% RIGHT!

WHO BUILT ALL OF THAT?

FIRST – ABOUT THE LUNCH BBQ FUNDRAISER:

RAIN or SHINE this Saturday (August 11, 2012) at noon at Maple Ponds Equestrian Center where Anne and I live. In case of rain, we’ve rented a large tent. And if it doesn’t rain, we’ll have a great time in the Pine Forest at our picture perfect picnic area.

The food will be great with oversized Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Buns, Condiments, hundreds of bottles of Water, Chips, and Cookies for dessert.

You can walk our trails, get up close and personal with the horses, learn a little about farming hay, and be greeted by Stryker himself. And if it’s dry, I’ll personally give tours through the forest on our Trail Buggy.

The cost is $25 per person . . . children 14 and under are free.

Remember . . . all proceeds go to our never-ending battle for Freedom of Expression.

BACK TO OBAMA AND HIS CLAIM THAT YOU DIDN’T BUILD THAT:

I bet none of you would have ever imagined me agreeing with anything Obama has said. But here it is . . .

To paraphrase . . . When Obama said that if you were successful, you didn’t build that, HE WAS RIGHT, but for the WRONG people.

When you look at the incredible determination and talent at the Olympic Games, in either Team or Individual Sports, those who won GOLD did it on their own.

They didn’t win GOLD because of some public schoolteacher, or because the school system built a gymnasium, or a swimming pool, or a running track. They, or he, or she didn’t win GOLD because of anything the government gave them, or did for them.

WHOEVER WON GOLD . . . WON GOLD BECAUSE OF INDIVIDUAL EFFORT!

Even on TEAM sports, each competitor MUST be 100% on his or her own personal game for the TEAM to win GOLD. And no matter what a COLLECTIVIST like Obama wants everyone to think, no level of government can make that happen.

SO HERE IS WHERE OBAMA WAS 100% RIGHT:

America, like my country of Canada, is a fabulous country with unbelievable infrastructure in roads, bridges, parks and institutions including the public school system with subsidized colleges and universities, which were built ENTIRELY with the BLOOD, SWEAT, TEARS, AND FEARS of INDIVIDUALS.

Not one thing of value was built by government . . . not one politician, bureaucrat, or public sector worker built anything, since EVERYTHING of value was built by the wealth EARNED and CREATED by the MAKERS in the PRIVATE Sector, INCLUDING the roads, bridges, and all infrastructure that benefits everyone.

So, when Obama said that they didn’t make that, he was absolutely right if his ridiculous comment was pointed in the right direction. And when a government type who feeds off the taxpayers, or a TAKER who doesn’t pay taxes travels on a road, he or she is traveling on MY ROAD, because I BUILT THAT.

But, there is a reality that escapes people like Obama who make nothing, but use the incredible infrastructure that was built by INDIVIDUALS who paid for 100% of everything. And it’s not even a question of which came first – the chicken or the egg.

Without the PRIVATE Sector, there would be no Public Sector whatsoever.

Our home is our private infrastructure with a house, barn, accessory buildings, a long tree-lined driveway, an equestrian camping center, about 5 miles of hand groomed riding and walking trails, dug ponds, and 10 acres of gorgeous hayfields.

WHO BUILT ALL OF THAT?

It certainly wasn’t the government. Nor was it a bureaucrat. Nor was it any public sector worker. It was Anne and I who built all of it from scratch.

When we bought the 60 acres of land that our property is built upon, it was a wet mess with unkempt fields and tangled forests.

And how did we buy this property? We paid for it with our very own AFTER-TAX money, which we earned IN SPITE of government regulations, while paying salaries to our employees so they too could buy things and pay taxes.

How did the government or public sector workers help us build our property? THEY DIDN’T. In fact, they were an additional expense that provided nothing but roadblocks towards the purchase and construction through endless regulations and papers to be filled.

Did I build it all by myself? If you consider the fact that everyone who worked for me were paid with my after-tax dollars . . . yes I did, since without my money, they would be unemployed with no money of their own to feed the tax machine.

Here is a stark reality – I could have built this entire property for much less in terms of cost and time WITHOUT the government, which would have allowed me to build an even bigger property if that’s what I wanted, or build without a mortgage, or less of a mortgage.

HERE’S THE OTHER SIDE:

Without my money and the money of other Private Sector Employers, who would pay the bloated salaries, ridiculous perks, and obscene pensions enjoyed by the employees of government?

There is no question whatsoever that we need people to maintain our infrastructure. But they don’t have to work for the government when the building and maintenance of roads and bridges could be done through the Private Sector, as can Garbage pick-up and most other things, where people would be paid a fair wage as is earned in the Private Sector, saving all tax payers a ton of money and aggravation.

We could also SLASH useless contrived regulations that are created by bureaucrats who are always looking for ways to meddle into the lives of the individuals WHO PAY THEIR SALARIES, while they try to justify their existence that smothers private incentives, costing incredible amounts of money, while creating nonsensical delays.

On our property, Anne and I make all of our own decisions. There are no committees, no regulations, and no one telling us how we should live our lives. And when we want advice, we ask for it. When we need help we pay for it. We maintain our own septic waste system. We maintain our own well and water treatment system. And we maintain our own long gravel driveway and 5 miles of groomed trails.

We even paid to have ponds and drainage ditches dug to dry-out the land.

When you consider that all we get for our more than $3000 property tax is garbage pick-up once a week, recycling pick-up once every other week, and a gravel road that is always in need of grading, what are we paying government for?

But – according to Obama and that LEFTIST mindset, how could we possibly enjoy our lifestyle without government?

HERE’S WHAT OBAMA’S POLICIES AND PHILOSOPHIES AMOUNT TO:

This week, NASA landed the Rover CURIOSITY on Mars, which was an incredible achievement like none other, but, Obama can’t say a peep about it, since in Obama’s first year as President, he gutted NASA’s budget, informed the leader of NASA that NASA’s newest priority was to integrate with the Moslem world, and he jobbed out American manned-space travel to the Space Station to the Russians.

IF THIS DOESN’T SAY IT ALL ABOUT GOVERNMENT . . . WHAT DOES?

Best Regards . . . Howard Galganov

  1. Consider me “in” if you decide to go for the several dollars a month option. I’d be willing to go the $5 Bucks a month program. Given what I can buy with the measly “increase” I get on Social Security every year ($11.46/mo. this year!), I’d be far ahead by giving you that money, and getting the information we all want. (And, if you don’t keep the blog on the internet, we’ll hunt you down in Texas and kick your butt…!) Ha! Ha!
