I have received many remarkable letters in response to my March 31, 2011 editorial titled: “WHERE ARE THE REAL AMERICANS?”
The letters all had a common theme:
PARAPHRASED – HERE’S WHAT THEY WROTE:
I’m a real American. I work hard everyday to put food on the table, to pay the rent, and keep the car running.
I pay my taxes so those who expect a free ride won’t be disappointed.
I served my country and believe in the Constitution. And I’d be out there picketing like the LEFT if I weren’t so busy making an honest living.
I want nothing from my government other than the freedom to work, keep most of what I earn, and decide for myself how I want to help out my neighbor.
The only thing I expect from my government is to keep our country safe.
While it is true that I’ve paraphrased what the people wrote to me, it is also true that these are the EXACT sentiments that were conveyed in the letters.
What was also made clear to me by virtually every person who responded to my last editorial, was that when the time comes for these folk to cast their votes in 2012, that’s when the politicians and the LEFT will REALLY hear from REAL AMERICANS.
For those politicians whose votes were given to them because the people thought they’d go to Washington to represent them, but instead, decided to represent the Party and look for compromise, they can DEPEND on REAL AMERICANS not to vote for them again.
More than that, they can DEPEND on REAL AMERICANS to have them replaced with candidates whose word really means something after they win.
If these sad-sack Republican politicians have any brains, they’d be thinking Primaries.
All of the letters I received were extremely well written, very much to the point, not in the least bit over the top, and straight from the heart of the letter writers.
If this is indeed what the real mood is of so many American people who are keeping their powder dry until the time is right to storm the barricades of Washington, 2012 will indeed be a pivotal year in the history of the United States of America.
Obama changed America in the worst way. But he didn’t do it alone. There are no shortages of so-called Republicans who’ve spent the people’s money as if they won it in a casino.
There’s no shortage of OVER-REGULATIONS created and imposed upon the people by so-called Republicans as if they thought of themselves as the people’s keepers.
There’s no shortage of Republicans who grew government and empowered the Public Service to believe that the people worked for them, rather than they who work for, and answer to the people.
Obama and his minions of LEFTISTS have severely wounded the greatest nation that ever was, but they didn’t beat down REAL AMERICANS.
If the LEFT thought for a second, that their union organized and financed demonstrations for Obama in 2008 was something to see and remember, or how the union organized and financed demonstrations outside the Conservative controlled State Houses in Ohio and Wisconsin is something to behold, THEY HAVEN’T SEEN ANYTHING YET.
There’s a world of difference between a staged and special interest (union) financed demonstration, and what happens when people of singular mind and true compassion take to the streets.
The LEFT expect everyone else to pay for their FREE RIDE including their demonstrations. But the RIGHT expects nothing from anyone, but from themselves.
The RIGHT will not need an “organization” to organize and pay for transport for them to get to where they need to be. They won’t need an “organization” for them to make professional signs and lead the prescribed chants.
All the RIGHT needs . . . is to know when and where.
Santa Anna took down the Alamo after 13 long days with overwhelming force against a ragtag half starved out of ammo group of REAL AMERICANS. But he didn’t take down Texas.
The LEFT took down the White House and Congress after a long war of media compliant propaganda and lies, led by a villain (Obama) no less determined to damage the USA than was Santa Anna.
BUT THEY WON’T TAKE DOWN THE USA if the people who wrote to me are the least bit indicative of who is out there waiting to do battle when the time comes.
I have always believed that anyone who underestimates the TRUE resolve of the people of the United States of America does so at their own peril. And after reading the letters I’ve just received, I’m sufficiently heartened to maintain that belief.
REMEMBER THESE FAMOUS WORDS FROM THOMAS JEFFERSON:
“What country before ever existed a century and a half without a rebellion?
And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance?
Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two?
The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.”
IT IS TO THE PERIL OF THE LEFT NOT TO UNDERSTAND THE NATURE OF REAL AMERICANS.

I didn’t comment on your last editorial–really no reason why. Just that I couldn’t have added more to it by saying anything. The editorial was straight to the point and about as honest and truthful as one can get.
I’m with you Howard, I’m brave and a Patriot that will never surrender. You are right, it is O.K. to be scared, and they can throw at me what they want but I will always stand up for my freedom. And I appreciate your patriotism.
