Yesterday, as we all know, Benazir Bhutto was shot dead. The bigger story is why it happened, and who was the primary cause for this outcome.
As you also know from reading my Web Site, I am quite supportive of much of what George W Bush has done in the war against Islamo/Fascism.
But not entirely so.
I have stated from the very beginning, that I support his drive into Iraq, but not his belief that he could bring Democracy to a part of the world that has no idea what the meaning of the word is, and is far more comfortable with the rule of the gun and the Koran.
I believe the same can be said about all Moslem countries including Turkey, where without the threat of the gun held in the hands of the Secular military, Islamo/Fascism would become the same reality there, as it is in all other Moslem lands.
The responsibility for what happened to Bhutto and the mess Pakistan is in as a result belongs in great measure to Condoleezza Rice. It was she who muscled Musharraf into bringing back Bhutto, holding Democratic elections, and forcing him to relinquish his command of the Pakistani military.
She was going to force Pakistan, whether Pakistan wanted to or not, to become a Democratic country. It’s like marrying a career prostitute expecting her to be faithful.
This is the same failed mindset in play in Iraq, since Iraq is no more a Democracy than Condoleezza Rice is a card-carrying member of the KKK.
And now she wants to add Israel, which is an absolute Democracy in every Western sense of the definition to play nice with savages whose only goal is to wipe Israel off the map.
In her twisted mind, it seems that she believes the Palestinians can be trusted as a peace loving people who are starving for Democracy. And all they need to make things better, is for Israel to surrender territory and security.
The way I see it, she screwed-up big time in Iraq. And now, predominantly because of her, nuclear-armed Moslem Pakistan is on the verge of an all out civil war.
And she wants to spread her genius to Israel.
Unfortunately for Israel, Israel has a stupid Prime Minister who is in search of anything that can make him look like a moderate global player who can fix all that is broken in the Arab/Moslem world just by going along with Condoleezza Rice.
As of January 2008, Bush has one year left in his full mandate. The best thing he can do going into the New Year will be to find another Secretary of State.

I am so happy for Anne and you. I know that, you will love living in Texas, during the Winter months. The Austin area is well known and the Texans are a great lot of people!!! One of my favorite cities in Texas, is San Antonio. I just love that whole city and the area, surrounding it. The food in Texas is outstanding, in my book. What a great way to retire, by living in two of your favorite countries. Texas and all of us Americans, welcome Anne and you with open arms. 🙂
