Gay And Lesbian Rights On The Radio

I happen to believe that Same Sex Marriage is neither a religious, social or political issue.

Stirling Faux: National Broadcaster with the Corus Radio Network, former Program Director and current Teacher of Radio Broadcasting in Vancouver is one of those people (like me) who might not feel comfortable watching two guys cuddling, but nonetheless, will fight for their right to be equal under the law.

Stirling and I are discussing the merits of the Same Sex Marriage debate on Radio On Galganov Dot Com.

I happen to believe that Same Sex Marriage is neither a religious, social or political issue.

To me: Same Sex Marriage is all about INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS.

It is a Constitutional issue that needs no debate.

Either all the people of Canada are equal under the law, or there is no law that can effectively guarantee the RIGHTS of anyone.

According to quite a few people who have e-mailed me, and many others whose opinions I’ve heard on conventional Talk-Radio, and many yet again who’ve written on the subject through Letters to the Editor in print newspapers; the RIGHT for Same Sex Marriages should somehow be decided by the majority of Canada’s population.

To this I say NO WAY!

This is an issue of MINORITY RIGHTS, which is not the business of Canada’s majority.
