If it wasn’t for Israel, this world would be a very different place.
In 1991, Bush senior led the USA, Britain and a pseudo coalition of disparate states into a campaign that bombed Iraq into another time zone. Why? Because it was a good deal for the oil cartel. Not OPEC. The other oil cartel: Exxon, Mobile, Texaco, Sunocco, Chevron, Shell and a few others I have not mentioned.
The popular version has it; that Iraq invaded Kuwait and proceeded to seize all Kuwaiti assets, while Iraqi troops ripped premature Kuwaiti babies out of their hospital incubators and slaughtered them on the spot. There were reports of mass rape, gratuitous murder and enormous wanton destruction of property.
The impending horror, as we were led to believe, also included the loss of vital strategic energy to the USA, even though Americans depended upon Iraq for only 5% of its oil requirements.
In reality, it turned out that most of the sensational stories of mayhem were contrived. I remember seeing this beautiful pediatric “nurse” on CNN speak of the murder of babies, that she herself had witnessed. It caught my attention that she was not wearing a Moslem veil, which is law for all women to wear in Kuwait. And that she made no claim of being raped. Nonetheless, she was a most credible spokesperson.
In truth however; this beautiful young woman turned out to be an articulate Kuwaiti princess, whose job it was to paint a picture that didn’t exist. Even though all the Western media ran, and reran her fictitious accounts before they knew she was a propaganda fraud; only a few took the time to expose her after the fact. And even fewer denounced her testimony.
It is far easier to motivate people to accept and participate in a war against savages who murder babies in incubators, than it is to mobilize a nation in the defense of wealthy oil conglomerates who want to protect their interests in order to get even wealthier.
There is a great deal more that we do not know about the Gulf war and its real cause, than what we do know. It does seem obvious however; that the USA, led by Bush senior and his oil industry pals suckered Saddam Hussein with the help of April Glaspie, US Ambassador to Iraq.
On July 25, 1990, in an official meeting with Saddam Hussein, she (Glaspie) assured Hussein that America had no interest in what he was planning for Kuwait. The following is the official transcript of what April Glaspie told Saddam Hussein.
“We have no opinion on your Arab – Arab conflicts, such as your dispute with Kuwait. Secretary (of State James) Baker has directed me to emphasize the instruction, first given to Iraq in the 1960’s, that the Kuwait issue is not associated with America.”
With that, Saddam invaded Kuwait, and the rest is mostly history.
10 years later, it is George “W” who is the President of the USA, surrounded by the same group who advised his father 10 years earlier. And the strategy seems to be no different. Not that the strategy was so good the first time around. Remember, Saddam is still there, bigger, uglier and more dangerous than ever.
Just like before, the USA is busy building its phony coalition to take on a demonized enemy. Unlike before however; this enemy struck first, and is spoiling for a fight. In 1991, when the USA was sucking up to despotic Arab nations to join in against Saddam, the only Middle Eastern country that was completely excluded by the Americans was Israel.
It is also interesting to note, that all the Arab countries which were included in this coalition, were given special transponder ID codes for their fighter aircraft. Israel, on the other hand, was ordered by the USA to stay out of the fray, and denied the codes. The significance of the codes were such, that without them, planes would be considered the enemy and shot down.
Israel was hit repeatedly with Iraqi Scud missiles. Again, the USA ordered Israel not to retaliate. Instead, the Americans sent to Israel, the Patriot Anti Missile, Missile Defense System that later proved to be less than useless.
After the intense bombing of Iraq, Colin Powell, then Joint Chief of Staff convinced the Bush administration not to go into Bagdad and finish the job. So, 10 years later, Saddam Hussein is still the thug in charge with a whole new image as the one Arab leader who stood up to the Great Satan and survived. In the Arab world, this translates into a huge victory.
Fast forward to September 11, 2001. The psyche of the USA is suddenly shattered by the attack on New York and the Pentagon. There is mass destruction that cripples the country and begins to force the world towards financial depression. And if this is not enough, the President of the USA is flying cross country in search of personal safety while his people face the attack and attackers head-on.
Finally, the President reads a statement written by other people. And in this statement: justice, retribution and a declaration of war is pledged. That was September 11, 2001.
Seven weeks have since past. The US stock market is reeling. The hospitality industry is a basket case. Millions of jobs are being lost. It is estimated that the attack on the USA will cost several trillion dollars after the dust settles. And if that isn’t enough. The USA now seems to be under attack by the Islamic Arabs through the postal system. This time with anthrax.
What is America doing about it? President Bush continues to read platitudes from prepared speeches. Secretary of State, Colin Powell is globe-trotting while he sucks up to despotic Arab countries in search of a new coalition. Donald Rumsfeld, Secretary of Defense is telling us that the air war is doing fine, but he can’t produce any victories. Attorney General, John Ashcroft just had an anti-terrorism law passed. And Vice President Dick Cheney is holed-up in isolation.
In the meantime, all of the aforementioned political leaders spend an enormous amount of effort telling everyone who will listen, that Islam is a loving and peaceful religion, and we can’t blame Arabs for the attacks, because the attackers are terrorists. Meanwhile, Arab Muslims, and Muslims who are not Arabs are chanting the praises of Osama Bin Laden who is quickly being elevated to the status of the prophet Mohammed; from Indonesia, to Pakistan, to the Middle East.
It also took a Herculean effort on the behalf of Middle Eastern dictators to keep the Arabs from dancing in the streets at the news of the mass slaughter in the USA. After-all; Arabs celebrating don’t make the dictators and their countries look all that good on international television, especially when the celebration is about the murder and devastation of Americans and American property.
And while the American leadership is busy navel gazing, these “terrorists”, who happen to be Arab Muslims, and who are wreaking havoc in the name of Allah, are further paralyzing the world’s greatest super power without having to do anything more. Just the threat of another attack is crippling the way Americans live their lives.
It appears to me, that the only country who the USA is trying “to put in its place” other than stone age Afghanistan. is Israel. Israel was expected to take a beating from the Iraqis in 1991, and was kept out of the coalition so as not to offend Arabs.
It is now 2,001, and once again, Israel is being told by their “best friend” to stay out of the coalition against terrorism, and is expected to take a beating from Palestinian terrorists, without retaliation; so as not to upset the Arabs Collin Powell is sucking up to. Even if that means not punishing those responsible for the murder of an Israeli cabinet minister.
This time however; Israelis have had enough. When attacked by Palestinian terrorists, they have responded. And when condemned by their “best friend” for defending themselves, they continue to do what has to be done to protect their people and their borders. The White House can learn a lesson here.
Unlike the Americans, Israel’s Head of State is front and center when his country is attacked. Unlike the Americans, the Israelis send in troops and go after the people responsible for terror and murder. Unlike the Americans, the Israelis don’t search high and low for allies when it comes to self-defense. Unlike the Americans, the Israelis don’t wait seven weeks to maybe do something after being attacked. Israelis respond in minutes. And unlike the Americans, the Israelis do not sell out their real friends to make friends with scum.
If it wasn’t for Israel, this world would be a very different place.
On the 7th of June, 1981, Israel did the world the biggest favor ever. It dispatched F-16 and F-18 fighter jets to Iraq, where they destroyed the French built Osiriq nuclear facility before it went hot. Had Israel not done that, Osama Bin Laden, Al Qaeda and the Taliban would be the very least of our problems.
Did the world ver say thank you to Israel for eliminating this global threat? Just the contrary. Israel was once again condemned for being an aggressor.
It is a good thing for humanity that the leader of Israel in 1981 was Menachen Begin, and not either of the two Bushes. “W” or senior.

Great one Howard , I have for many years shunned [ boycotted ] movies . I will NOT contribute to their role in destroying
our great Republic . I have been laughed at by ” friends” , but could care less . I can only hope that more people like us ,
would expand our rejection of Hollywood propaganda so to really hurt these ” STARS ” financially !!
