Edward Snowden, the NSA Whistle Blower is a HERO. As a matter of fact, in this day and age, anyone who outs government activities that spy on the people is INDEED a HERO.
Extraordinary men gave the world the new Magna Carta on July 4, 1776, when they signed the Declaration of Independence at Independence Hall in Philadelphia Pennsylvania.
And in case you’ve forgotten – or perhaps you never knew the foundational words of this Magnificent Document – read the following . . . BUT, pay SPECIAL attention to the second half that reads:
“That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends . . .”
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. . .
That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”
FORGOTTEN:
Just like the Bible, the Ten Commandments, and the Magna Carta, these incredible few words written by Thomas Jefferson, almost Two and a Half Centuries ago, consented in signature by 56 Patriots, define not just the EMBODIMENT and ETHOS of the United States of America, but the aspirations of all people who desire to live FREE.
I contend that there can be no greater cause for humanity than to live FREE . . . not encumbered by the shackles of even the most benign government.
REGRETTABLY THOUGH . . . there are very few people in our societies in this day and age who either understand or value the true meaning of living FREE.
THE BIG LIE AND THE EVEN BIGGER THREAT:
The FALSEHOODS always used by government to USURP portions of FREEDOM, is the CANARD about National Security and the need to provide for the GREATER Good.
AND . . . any person who is so CAVALIER to his or her FREEDOMS, in the belief that government knows better, does not deserve to be FREE.
IN THE IMMORTAL WORDS OF BENJAMIN FRANKLIN:
“Those who would give up Essential Liberty to Purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.”
AND MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT ANY OF THIS . . . Our governments are at war with the people, since THEY and WE have both forgotten who serves whom, and in whose interest FREEDOM lies.
Any man or woman who is brave enough to EXPOSE the government whose goal is to remove FREEDOM from the people . . . is indeed a HERO in the context of those great men who on July 4, 1776 made the decision to go to WAR against the greatest Empire at that time, in their desire to be FREE.
The defining CODE of COURAGE and FREEDOM quoted from Barry Goldwater on the bottom of EVERY Page of galganov.com says it all:
“Extremism in the defense of Liberty is no vice. And moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.”
