MY DAY IS LASTING A WEEK . . . HOPEFULLY NOT MUCH LONGER
Today Marks 52-Years That Anne & I Have Been Married . . . It is Certainly Not the Way we were Looking Forward Celebrating our Anniversary . . . But With The Good Comes The Bad. Thank God For Anne . . . Who Else Would Take Such Good Care Of Me & The Two Boys.
NO ONE IS INVULNERABLE TO THE FLU . . . NOT EVEN ME:
I Will Make This Editorial Short, Since Writing This Is Taking All The Energy I Have.
I Worked as the Deputy Returning Officer (DRO) until Midnight on April 28, 2025, and by the Time I Got to Bed, there was Nothing Left of Me. It Was Not A Great Day, Especially Given that my Party & Party Leader Didn’t Win . . . But I Will Deal with that in a Future Editorial.
Right Now . . . I Want To Reassure You That Even Though I Am Not Well . . . But Nonetheless – Well Enough to See Some Light at the End of The Tunnel, I am Looking Forward to Getting Back in the Saddle as Soon as I Can.
Also . . . I want to thank the People who Sent Emails Expressing their Concerns for Why I was Not Writing. And to the People Who Sent their Best Wishes for Our 52nd Anniversary.
In The Meantime I Will Continue To Do My Best To Stay Informed, Read your Emails and Get to Doing What I Like Doing Best As Soon As I Can.
Best Regards . . . Howard Galganov

Howard, Hope you are on the mend!
Hi Howard, sorry to hear you’re not feeling the greatest praying and well wishes for you to recover speedy. Congratulations on your 52nd anniversary to you and Anne and yes, Monday was a bit of a disappointing day, but the writing was kind of on the wall.
Best wishes on your and Anne’s 52nd Anniversary.
Happy Anniversary to you and Ann!
Wishing you a Speedy Recovery, Howard. I don’t have the Flu, but thanks to watching our Montreal Canadiens get eliminated by the Washington Capitols in the playoffs (5 games) gave me High Blood Pressure. And the Quebec French Language Police forbidding GO HABS GO to be written on Montreal busses added to my angst! Anyhow, it’s all been sorted out and GO HABS GO is now legal. Trouble is, HABS are not playing til next season. So it’s GO CAPS GO !!! I’m rooting for Washington.
I had that nasty flu. It takes time to heal. You will mend and come back to throw down the gloves and get in the corners. Congratulations on your rare 52-year wedding anniversary. April 28 … “a date which will live in infamy”. Canada will return from the edge of stupidity and regain who we were … free, democratic, honourable, ethical, moral, fiscally responsible, trusted elections, immigrants that come to Canada because of who we are and not come to change us to where they came from.
Wishing you a speedy recovery and hope you make the best of your anniversary. Great accomplishment.
I hope that you recover soon. Take at easy and rest.
Congratulations on 52 yrs of bliss with a wonderful caretaker. How fortunate we both have a loving wife and a blessed and happy home. I wish I had some encouraging words for Canada. It appears to me that socialists (communists) uninformed voters simply outnumered the conservatives (better educated). I am trying to say this as nicely as possible. I am sorely disappointed my President seemed to cozy up with the wrong side but I will continue to stand by Trump 100% with his directions for the USA
Wishing you a speedy recovery and Mazel Tov to you and Anne. May you continue in good health till …120 🙏🍾 Judith & Antonio
Congratulations to you and Anne, 52 years, what a Blessing. Get well soon. I did some research on the new PM and was surprised to learn that he is godfather to Victoria Freeland’s son. All in the family!!!!!
Feel better soon, and happy anniversary to you both. 52 years how special.
Hope you get back to good health again real soon. I know you will. I also had the flu last year and bronchitis simultaneously. I got taken to the hospital thinking it was a heart attack. Baruch Hashem, it wasn’t. I’m OK now and you will be, too. A hearty Mazel Tov to you and Anne on your 52nd. May you have many more. Norton Milecofsky, Jackson NJ
Best wishes for a Happy Anniversary and a Speedy Recovery!
Hope you mend quickly. I look forward to your daily comments While Trump’s comments about Canada were not needed and probably did hurt the conservative’s efforts, Canadians themselves have to bear the brunt of their foolish voting which I believe will hurt their beautiful country. I will not give up on Canada yet as the liberals will have to form a minority government Zane Pollard Atlanta, Georgia
Wishing you well, Howard. I, too, had the flu a few weeks ago. Fever and Fatigue, etc…. but rest and listening to Gordon Lightfoot helped me to get better. Music helps healing. Wishing you and Anne a Happy 52nd Anniversary and many more. Good Health & Happiness always!
Prayers for a speedy recovery. Maybe you were infected by doing your civic duty at the poles. “No good deed will go unpunished!” it seems.
Shalom Howard and Anne. Happy Anniversary!! Get well and don’t give it to Anne! 🙂
Howard , Happy Anniversary and get well soon ! I am sorry for any bad effect Trump may have had on the election in Canada ! Sonny
Awesome 52nd anniversary to you both!! And secondly, but no less enthusiastically, may you feel better day by day. I recommend rest and fluids in abundance ; but I’m sure Anne already has you doing that. Look forward to your being “back in the saddle” writing your editorials shortly.
I’m sorry you’re sick on your anniversary. I hope you feel better soon and can have a better celebration later. I’m looking forward to reading what you have to say about the election. God bless you and Anne on your special day!
Hi Howard, I’ve had the flu several times throughout my years, I was able to bounce back much sooner then. BUT Now I’m 73, it took me much longer to recoup. I had to be patient with myself which was hard enough to do. Dealing with the Flu was tough enough, dealing with my impatience along with the Flu was, well extremely Discouraging. Daunting would be more like it. Hope you’re doing better now. Happy Anniversary to You & Anne. I seen the results of that election, I grieved for Canada.
Wishing you & Anne a very happy anniversary. re: the Flu – Feel better. Ron
Congratulations to Anne and you on your 52nd wedding anniversary, wishing you both many more happy & healthy years together. Talking about good health, you’re in our thought and hopes for a speedy recovery.
So glad you have Anne and your doggies to help you through the flu. They are a blessing. I wish you a speedy recovery and thank you for “telling it like it is”!!🦮🙏
Wish you and Anne may more Happy Health Anniversaries and hopes for a speedy recovery. Ironically today our 49th anniversary.
Wishing you a speedy recovery & a Happy Anniversary!!! I’ve read in several articles & been told by a doctor that this year’s flu shot not only did not prevent the flu, but people who had this year’s vaccine is 27% more likely to get the flu. I’ve never had a flu shot & am not planning to in the future.
Get Better! And Happy Anniversary!
Get well, mend and continue your great work. Cheers from the Miramichi.
Sorry to hear you are in such a poorly state Howard, although it is often said over here in Oz that ‘the man flu’ is way more serious, debilitating and painful than that of a woman undergoing a natural childbirth? Also that your Canadian elections did not go the way you and many other people would have wished. Federal elections are tomorrow here and similarly heaven help us if the labor party wins another three years. And of course to you and Anne Happy Anniversary.
Congratulations to you and Anne and best wishes for 52 more years. Sorry you’re dealing with the flu, and hope it’s short lived. As for Canada’s election results, suffice to say I was disappointed for you personally, and for Canada as a whole, but not really surprised. Looking forward to your thoughts.
It was a good idea not to limit the number of comments for this posting!! May I add my best wishes for a speedy recovery and as a physician for the past 45 years may I recommend Chicken Soup ( or better still with an additional Ashkenazi matzah ball added for “protein” in addition to the electrolytes). My favorite is the Manischevitz pack at “Steinberg’s” which I have to make myself as my Sephardic wife won’t go near it. Get well fast. We need the dirt of the new “Trudeau Whisperer” CD
Just wanted to wish you both HAPPY ANNIVERSARY… and GET WELL SOON!!!
Get well soon! Wedding Anniversaries are a GIFT FROM GOD, especially when you are blessed to be married to that someone special who best understands you, stands behind and with you, looks out for your best interest, makes you want to wake up every day and snuggle in bed every night, provides sanity for those days of insanity, calms you when you are overly worked up, shares with you the beauty of God’s creation, and well COMPLETES you. May you both look forward to #53! God Bless You Both!
Get well soon Howard It’s not nice when youre down with the flu, and seems forever to heal. Happy anniversary to you and Anne. You two are a remarkable couple. Here’s to MANY more years of happiness and togetherness. Marlene😊👍🎂
Happy Anniversary late and I hope by the time I finally read the above that you are well on the way to a full recovery and feel well again or soon ! So sorry you have had to go through that on top of your party losing. I was sick when I heard the news. Best Wishes, Joy
Happy Anniversary. Hope you get well soon. Eat plenty of homemade chicken soup. Ed and I got fluA—vaccine didn’t touch this strain. We spent 4 weeks trying to get better. Happy to say, in our 80’s, we made it back ok. You will, too. And via The Epoch Times, I was in touch with a Canadian conservative who says there is hope for Canada because liberals are a minority party, and the conservatives have a plan to get hold of their country. Praying this is so. Take care.
Feel better soon! I’ve read some FB comments about irregularities/strange activities at some polling stations…did you witness anything suspicious?
Happy Anniversary and get well soon. Our prayers are with & for you.
