If I Lied & Defamed Someone, Even A Politician, I Would Fully Expect To Be Prosecuted In The Courts . . . Why Not Politicians?
TWO QUESTIONS . . .
1 – Why can Politicians, Political Parties & the Media be Immune to Punishment for Violating the Truthful Rights of Anyone, Including their Opponents with Defamation?
I Know that the LEFT Detests the Words of the Torah/Bible, but How Difficult Should it be for Men & Women we are Conditioned to Trust (Politicians/News Media) to Remember the NINTH COMMANDMENT, Even if that Person is Not Religious . . . Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness Against Thy Neighbor.
In The Courts Of Law . . . Including Congressional Witnesses & Interviewees Of The FBI Lie . . . Lying Is A Punishable Offense.
Even our Children, Literally from the Time of Birth to Reasonably Honest Parents, and then Taught by our Teachers, are Trained & Cajoled NOT to Lie, that Lying is a Sin . . . So Why is it Not a Sin for the Men & Women whose Honesty is Paramount to their Positions of Leadership?
2 – And Why Are There Official Places In Government Where One Can Lie, Defame & Destroy Reputations With Total Immunity?
WHY AS A FREE PEOPLE . . . DO WE PUT UP WITH PEOPLE WE CAN’T TRUST?
Why Is It OK . . . For Someone (Just One Of Far Too Many) Like Adam Schiff – to Make Egregious & Unfounded Claims About Donald Trump, which were Knowingly False, just Because Schiff Made these Claims Under the Protection within Specific Chambers of Congress?
Why Is It OK . . . For Example In Canada, Here & Now, to Have a National Leader (Pretend Conservative – Erin O’Toole) Win the Party’s Leadership with a Specific Platform, Which O’Toole Has Now Almost Entirely Abandoned?
THE ANSWER IS THAT IT’S NOT OK . . . But With A Compliant News Media & Social Media . . . Lying Is Just Par For The Course.
We Have To End This . . . And as Ridiculous as this is Going to Read, Because in my World, It Should Be A No Brainer . . . No One – Politician or Not, Should Ever be Able to Lie, Disparage or Defame ANYONE, Intentionally or Unintentionally . . . Without Being Held To Account.

COUPLED with a Criminal Education System and a Fanciful Entertainment Industry, where People are Induced to Believe in a World of Illusion & Misrepresentation . . . We Easily Buy The Lies.
Someone Who Says One Thing To Gain Position, Power Or Wealth, But Does The Contrary Once Successful . . . Is A Grifter.

The Hunger Games, which was a Fabulous Movie about a Totalitarian State, where the Hero, who was a Beautiful Young Woman, Championed Freedom Over Despotism & Good Over Evil, Played By Jennifer Lawrence, who Became an Overnight International Hollywood Sensation Because of her Role as “Katniss Everdeen”, the Hero of the Story, Who in Real Life Rails Against the Very People . . . Who Do What The People Cheered Lawrence’s Character For Doing In Make-Believe, Specifically In The Name Of A Real Hero . . . Donald Trump.
We Have Digressed So Much In Our Culture . . . That we Believe in our Fantasies, or at Least the Fantasies that are Presented to us by the People (Political Leaders, Media & Academia) Who We Should All Be Trusting The Least.
THE WORLD ISN’T DEVOLVING INTO A SHITTY PLACE BY ACCIDENT:
No One In Authority Is Going To Come Forward & Say I Screwed Up & It’s All On Me.

Also, why do our elected representatives do and say NOTHING while lunatic fringe idiots like Butts and Trudeau and their associated political thugs rob, plunder and manipulate Canada and citizens into the status of a third world country?
How do individuals hold politicians’ feet to the fire other than via voting? Those candidates decide to run or are Party choices & we vote by what they say they stand for. If they do otherwise, how do you propose individuals hold him/her accountable? Example: GOP of my state were to have gubernatorial primary June 2020, but the Party Heads canceled the primary & selected the candidate. He’s a businessman & his opponent is career politician & weasel. So will vote for businessman-talks good talk.

ELECTED A CANDIDATE IN OUR RIDING BECAUSE WE FORMED A SMALL TEAM OF FOUR OR FIVE PEOPLE AND NEVER SAID NO. YOU CAN’T PROMOTE SUCCESS FROM AN ARMCHAIR.
lying has become the mainstay of our government, say anything to get elected and then forget what they said. Lawyers are taught to talk around the truth, (I took some law classes in college) they will shut your answer down if it is not what they want to hear. Most Politicians are Lawyers so they walk that way. We need to call out the lies and scream them to the roof tops on any leader. Wish we could get them out of office for lying, then there would be no Congress or Senate or President.
Politicians should be accountable. The only way in todays world would be to have strong legislation in place for re-call that can be triggered without huge amounts of red tape but simply “you said this but are doing the opposite or something completely different”, that’s it. It should not be lengthy procedure but a quick process. As far as the media, they are a private business so best way to hold them accountable is to stop watching them. To simple? It needs to be simple.
Great editorial. I have seen enough of what has happened to some journalist trying to get answer from candidates, they will not answer any of their questions, then have them removed so they can’t ask anymore questions. So I am rethinking whom I will vote for. I am getting tired of all the lies by some leaders especially the two at the top. No Transparence in the Federal gov’t. Mad Max should have been in the debates, he is gathering steam. To bad the Cons don’t have a different leader.
