Like Sean Connery’s character “Malone” said in “The Untouchables” (1987), “…There’s nothing like Vaudeville.” This isn’t “political theater” like some congressperson said yesterday. This is nothing but a govt-conducted vendetta against a former POTUS. Jan 6 wasn’t an ‘insurrection,’ it wasn’t even a riot. Are we to believe that a bunch of unarmed protesters with picket signs overpowered the security forces of the most secure public-access building in the US? Puh-leeeze.
I saw the Theatrics as you do. As you say, without all the SHOW we would be saving Millions. And it is OUR dollars they are spending. And the Fake News Media…which I took a peek at this morning, are adding their own theatrics. We have military & police who do NOT cry & they engage worse than the Capitol Police did. Howard, “the Pillow Guy ” is about to let loose proof of a China connection on the election. Liz cheny should be kicked out of the Republican party for being a pat of the hearing farce. Martial Law would be a big mistake for the Dems to make, the American people would not tolerate a one party martial law enactment, and all they would get is a whole lot of dangerous and possible fatal re action for their actions. Trump had the best opportunity to enact Martial Law and didn’t, not a smart move.
If the January 6th “riot” was an insurrection the cops “testifying” yesterday and in the future would be doing so from their graves. The charade, high theater if you will, I saw part of yesterday was beyond a joke. This whole mess in DC is no longer funny, it has become what could very well become a real rebellion and the libs/Dems will have only themselves to blame if they find their heads on poles lining Penn Avenue. You are so spot-on, Howard. I live in a suburb of Portland, OR. For a year+ we have seen BLM/Antifa rioting, burning, destruction of businesses in downtown. People stay away from what was once a beautiful city. The thugs get ‘arrested’, but then are released by a D.A. who espouses a ‘criminal justice reform agenda’. In other words, citizens don’t have rights, and criminals aren’t punished for their crimes. But a peaceful protest in the Capitol is an insurrection!

I know two people who where there, both close to me. They listened to our President, then walked to the a large group. They were met on a side road that barriers up and were told they could go no further. After almost an hour, two large busses showed up, He estimated 140 or so folks got off looking like fighters.
