I’M NOT AN AMERICAN . . . And Neither is Anne, but it’s Hard not to get a Tingle up one’s Spine and Tear-Up just a little at the very Words, Passion & Reason for the Song.
To Anne & Myself . . . It’s An Incredible Tragedy That Canada Has Nothing With Which To Compare.

While checking out at a local mini mart , I noticed the checker was wearing a Purple Heart. I asked if it was real and she said it had been her dad’s. He was a WWII vet that was wounded in Germany. He is no longer alive, but she wears it every Memorial Holiday in his and other’s honor. I thanked her for telling me the story and said that it must make her very proud. She said of course it did. We were both misty eyed and I left the store a little sadder but a lot prouder to be an American.

I am a USAF Veteran, and I just want to wish all the families out there that had family members in the military and were lost due to their service to protect our Great Country, the United States of America and all of the Free World.. May All of You have a very Blessed Memorial Day.. for our rememberance of all our deceased Veterans that lost their lives protecting all of us..so that we are even able to have this Memorial Day to Honor them!!

I have a Liberal/Progressive brother who fought in WW II, and served in the civil service until retirement, then as a consultant. He loves the “big brother” who gives him a pay check, accepts whatever he does work-wise and then retires him as a tripple dipper. These are the Americans we are fighting against. They scoff at our true history, call us racists and bigots. I worked hard, got my BA at night school and made a lot of money. To him, that makes me the “ugly American”.

The USS Intrepid is a nice visit. With planes on deck including the Concord, and a snorkel submarine on its side, makes you feel proud. You also have an opportunity to stroll on the West side of Manhattan and enjoy the wonderful restoration of what was once a busy port to many ships. Great job New York.
