JUST ONE OF MANY MILLIONS OF HEROES

TRUMP HAS OPENED AMERICA’S POLITICAL PANDORA’S BOX.

THIS IS NOT TO DEFEND ANYTHING I WROTE . . . ‘CAUSE IT NEEDS NO DEFENSE:

Let me set the record straight about John McCain being a HERO . . . because some people wrote that no matter what McCain does or did after he was released from captivity, he was nonetheless a true American Hero.

WHO’S A HERO ACCORDING TO GALGANOV:

1 – Every man and woman who volunteers to wear the uniform of his/her country is a HERO.

2 – McCain was not the only American serviceman who was captured and tortured. He was one of many over the centuries.

3 – MY DAD WAS A 100% BONA-FIDE WWII HERO . . . During the Battle of Monte Casino, my dad was hit hard in his head with flying shrapnel. He was carried off the field to be stitched-up, and ordered to the rear for hospital care.

BUT THE FIGHTING WASN’T DONE . . . AND NEITHER WAS MY DAD.

As soon as he was sutured, he walked out of the battle-front clinic, picked up his Enfield 303, grabbed as many clips as he could carry, and went back to doing what he VOLUNTEERED to do . . . SERVE HIS COUNTRY AND FIGHT NAZIS.

4 – And that wasn’t the first, last, and only time he showed incredible courage . . . but to him, he was just one of more than 1,000,000 Canadians doing what had to be done, which to his way of thinking, was the price all men had to pay for FREEDOM.

MY DAD NEVER THOUGHT OF HIMSELF AS A HERO . . . NEVER! But, he always thought of his comrades-in-battle as his brothers – I THINK THEY ALL DID.

SO HERE’S THE RUB ON MCCAIN:

My DAD did his service way above and beyond the call of duty; he was wounded, sickened (Malaria), fought in hand-to-hand combat, lived in the open in the mud, rain and snow, carried a Bren (Machine) Gun when not carrying his Enfield 303, and rode a battle Motorcycle between and behind enemy lines as a Scout and DISPATCH RIDER.

My dad was written up repeatedly in Dispatches, awarded medals for his service, and won the Bronze Lion, presented by Queen Wilhelmina, the Netherland’s second highest award for outstanding bravery. NOT BAD FOR A CANADIAN born to immigrant parents.

LET ME WRITE IT AGAIN . . . MY DAD WAS A REAL 100% HERO:

And let me write this as clearly as I possibly can. UNLIKE JOHN MCCAIN, my dad came home after serving, and went about getting a job. Not a fancy job. Just a job, so he could get married, have children, put a roof over his family’s head, food on the table, and raise his family as best he could . . . Just like millions of other North Americans did when they came home from war

BUT WHAT MY DAD DIDN’T DO . . . WAS TRADE ON HIS WAR-TIME RECORD:

There have been MILLIONS of Canadian and American Military HEROES who sacrificed greatly in the cause of FREEDOM, many of whom never had the chance to come home. And many who came home scarred and broken . . . 99.9% of whom NEVER traded on their war history.

SO WHAT MAKES MCCAIN SPECIAL?

What MCCAIN endured in Vietnam, became who he was, as if it made him somehow special, unassailable, bordering on being holy, to be revered and BEYOND criticism. THAT’S JUST BS!

HE SERVED . . . HE WAS CAPTURED – HE WAS RELEASED . . . END OF STORY.

McCain INSULTED not just 15,000 people in Arizona WHO CAME OUT TO HEAR TRUMP the other day, but rather, also MILLIONS of other Americans who love what Trump is saying . . . but that’s OK, because McCain is a HERO.

McCain insulted fellow Republican Senators (Ted Cruz and Rand Paul), by publicly calling them WACKO-BIRDS, because he didn’t agree with their position . . . but that’s OK too, because McCain is a HERO.

McCain’s career is replete with DRIVE-BY insults and snide remarks targeting a plethora of people, with whom he either didn’t like, didn’t agree with, or thought were unworthy. BUT THAT’S OK TOO . . . BECAUSE MCCAIN WAS A HERO!

THE MASSIVE TRUMP CONTRIBUTION:

It’s remarkable how Trump, who is one of the most unlikely champions of FREEDOM and DEMOCRACY . . . is shining the strength of a KLIEG LIGHT on the insanity that has become the governance of the United States of America, exposing the PHONIES, who are making and have made decisions that are killing the USA.

IF NOTHING ELSE . . . TRUMP HAS OPENED AMERICA’S POLITICAL PANDORA’S BOX:

I heard former Texas Governor, Rick Perry, speaking on television this morning (July 21, 2015). It must be made clear before I continue, that I always thought Perry could be a good President, and when he spoke, I always figured it was worth listening . . . BUT.

In what Trump would take a smattering of words to CLEARLY, yet inarticulately express, Perry took reams of measured words, just to get to a less than finite point. AND THAT SUMS UP WHY SO MANY PEOPLE SUPPORT TRUMP.

Trump speaks people . . . MOST of the rest speak politics.

I SERIOUSLY DOUBT THAT TRUMP WILL EVER BE PRESIDENT:

I also doubt that Trump will run as an Independent if he doesn’t make it to the nomination, but one never knows what a person who is capable will do.

I’ve read and received a huge number of emails reminding me about Ross Perot, and how he ushered in the Clintons by dividing Conservatives, as a warning about supporting TRUMP. But there are MANY significant differences.

1 – Trump is no Ross Perot. Or maybe Perot was no Trump.

2 – The American people were not nearly as fed-up with Washington then as they are today.

3 – The LEFT were always a problem. But nothing like they are now.

4 – America was NOT teetering on insolvency as it is today . . . with MORE than $18-TRILLION in debt and growing by the second.

5 – Islam was not the threat then . . . that it is now.

6 – America was not nearly as torn along racial, gender, class, and numerous other contrived divides.

7 – There were far more MAKERS then, than there are TAKERS today.

8 – America was the most powerful, feared, and respected country on the planet, which isn’t true now.

9 – America has surrendered EXCEPTIONALISM for being ordinary . . . to being just another nation amongst nations.

10 – AND THERE WAS NO OBAMA . . . THE ENEMY FROM WITHIN.

11 – There were no undocumented people in America . . . THEY WERE ILLEGAL!

12 – People had the choice of Health Care, without having the government shoving it’s version down the population’s throat as it is today.

13 – And perhaps the most important issue . . . is how Congress has allowed Obama and the Supreme Court to utterly disregard and disassemble the US Constitution.

THOSE ARE JUST SOME DIFFERENCES BETWEEN TRUMP TODAY AND PEROT THEN:

Let me repeat . . . If all that Trump does now, is to continue to shine a BRIGHT LIGHT on (in his words) the LOSERS in Washington; that in itself is something that would deserve the gratitude of the American people.

Best Regards . . . Howard Galganov

  1. As usual, your comments are mutually felt. My only real concern is the political machines of the dems and republicans really deciding the outcome of the 2016 election for POTUS. I like Jeb Bush, and know nothing negative about him, except that I honestly think we’d have great difficulty electing another Bush. Most pundits here believe Hillary is pretty much a lock already. My choice for knocking off Hillary is Dr Ben Carson. We need a strong conservative that’s not a politician. Your opinion?

  2. My Dad was a SeaBee in the Navy in WWII. He and his buddies built airstrips all over the South Pacific while taking fire from the Japanese. They, like all military men and women that volunteer to serve their countries, are all hero’s in their own right. John McCain was a hero, but unfortunately he is part of the problem in Washington. Life long politicians, any of them, need term limits!!!!! It’s just that simple. Fat chance getting that passed in Washington… huh?

  3. HOWARD,
WITH YOUR PERMISSION I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE AN EXCERPT OF YOUR POST AND PUT IT ON TRUMPS FB PAGE. IT IS ACTIVE 1,000’S OF FOLKS THAT like him. I found today’s post dealing with your say on him would be welcome from him and his supporters. What you wrote was truth and I admire your comments to that extent! post yes or no!

  4. Howard, I agree with everything you said, except one, I would not write Trump off on being nominated for the Presidency. The more negative Trump gets, the more the rats come out of the hole. Our Country is in serious trouble and we need someone who will address these issues and fast. One thing that could put Trump over the edge is that if there was a mass terrorist attack in this Country, which I hope there is not.

  5. Yes, your dad was a HERO! What a wonderful story, thank you for sharing!

  6. Howard, my compliments to you for tracking, and appreciating, Trump’s blitz of the GOP race, although I do like Cruz (he can’t do it…the country unfortunately is suffering from Texas fatigue…) and I like Walker (can he?). But Trump is the loud-mouthed, obnoxious, arrogant ass we’ve been waiting for, and so far, I’m loving it. I hope he doesn’t step on his extra-long ego before it’s all over. I also remembe that he said Opra Winfrey would make a great vice-president. Good Heavens!

  7. I like the way Trump “says it like it is”…we need more like him. I think if he would have clarified just why McCain was a HERO would have helped…it wasn’t because he was shot down, it was because he refused to be released early because of his fathers status (Four Star Admiral CIC of the Pacific Fleet at the same time his son was in captivity). Why hasn’t this ever been brought up in the press? McCain wanted to stay with the rest of the men until their release.

  8. First of all, I am old.
I was a government experiment of the Nevada Proving Grounds tests of the early 1950s. Specifically, “Upshot Knothole.” Except for statistical data from the result of the two devices detonated over Japan, we knew little, nor had te full, long range effects taken effect on the exposed been assessed. as a rad safety officer, I was ordered to take readings in areas which would never be accessible to others. That data would yield the time frame when others could access.

  9. McCain, really had no serious choice to accept early release as a POW in Vietnam vs. that of his cellmates etc., and didn’t give a damn about the true hero I personally asked him for help in getting a posthumous award almost 50 years after the Korean War…for rescuing 2 of his B-29 crewmates in a ditching, and in losing his life going back for a third…because I didn’t give them his Soc. Security #in documentation! Bottom of the East China Sea!

  10. Thank you Howard for always putting it out there the way it should be..truthfully and honestly.

Jim Renick, Earlier I had read the entire site that you just posted. I was amazed and shocked. I hope everyone will read it as well. John McCain was No Hero in my eyes (after reading about his betrayal of his fellow troops).

Again Howard, thank you for all you do for the good of America, Canada, & Israel. God Bless You..

    That site again is http://www.theamericanconservative.com/artic

  11. Yes, Jim . . . it does. Just read most of it.
“A man not at peace with himself.”
Explains a lot about his waffling on issues, too.

  12. Howard you are on a roll. First off thanks to your dad for being one of the heroes that didn’t try to parlay it into a living. Trump is 100% right on McCain. McCain has been one of the worst Republican Senators in history, yet the party managed to select him to represent it in the oval office. Other than being the ‘war hero’ his 2nd claim is that he was a maverick who stabbed the republicans in the back every chance he had! He needs to get lost. For now Trump has my support.

  13. The Country awaits for the Debates, the Donald will be a site to behold

  14. Another bullseye Howard! You better be careful…we might kidnap you, get you a new birth certificate & draft you into service…political service in Washington DC!!! If Obama can get away with it…why not a real man with brains?!! :))
That said…I thank you & send you blessings every time a new email arrives!

  15. Exactly: John McCain was far from the only hero in prison or in the military in Vietnam. My husband was as well and he is now paying the price for having been there. I am his caregiver and tell him daily what a hero he is/was.

  16. Howard, thank you for the perspective. I was disgusted with Trump after he denigrated McCain. I can’t stand McCain the RINO, but one’s service to the country should be unassailable. But you’re right on point. Service is sacrifice. If one uses that sacrifice in order to advance his own ambition, it becomes a Form of prostitution. Thanks for a wider perspective. G-d bless patriots like your dad. You’re very blessed to have had his example.

  17. You are completely correct in fact and truth. My many thanks to your dad (I’m a 22 yr vet). His bravery and understanding of the job that was to be done far exceeds to mindset in the pentagon full of officer core wusseys that are there today.

  18. GOD BLESS DONALD TRUMP, NOT FOR ANYTHING,BUT DONALD IS SHOWING BOTH THE DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS THAT THE PEOPLE ARE TIRED OF LISTENING TO ALL THE RHETORIC FROM POLITICIANS . THEY JUST WANT TO HEAR THE TRUTH,AND POLITICIANS “CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH” AS THEY LIE ABOUT EVERYTHING TO A POINT THAT THEY BELIEVE WHAT THEY ARE SAYING.THEY FEAR THAT THE PUBLIC WILL FINALLY SEE THROUGH THEIR LIES AND WILL EVENTUALLY VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE. HOPEFULLY DONALD WILL WAKE UP THE THE “GOOD GUYS”,IF POSSIBLE.

  19. McCain is a man with multiple flaws. One that does not reconcile with him having been a prisoner of war, is how he has worked to stop the rescue of the POWs left behind in Vietnam. A little investigation of things McCain has done leads one to the inescapable conclusion that he is an evil person.

  20. i always enjoy the stories of your Dad – a true hero! I have learned the value of reading your writings – thanks

  21. OORAH! Howard. For those who remember what America once was and stood for,PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF AMERICA, WAKE UP!When we need to be reminded by others, (no disrespect at all meant, but with thanks & gratitude only) who are outside of our borders on what we once were, stood for & sacrifices made. How Complacent have we become! How many at one time great countries & civilizations have fallen because of the exact same things occurring here and now.We have become full of pride & ourselves. We’ve forgot

  22. If Prince Songbird was treated well for his service while in N.Vietnam, why would he want to come home and be just a son and grandson of admirals? Based on your list of differences between then and now, the Arizona voters may just toss him out in 2016. And for that we all should be thankful to Trump. Here’s something else that’s been forgotten: http://politistick.com/breaking-john-mccain-pressured-obama-irss-lois-lerner-to-attack-tea-party-conservatives/

  23. Howard, I agree that your Dad was a true hero as were millions of others who fought for our two nations. As far as real American war heroes, how about Bob Dole ? Surely a war hero and, as is so typical amongst the REAL heroes, so modest about it.
I have no idea if Donald Trump will ever become president, but hear me loud and clear: We could do one hell of a lot worse !!
