Israel has sustained THOUSANDS of Arab (Palestinian) rocket attacks during the time Hamas had agreed to a ceasefire that actually brought TERROR, death, and destruction to innocent Jewish people within Israel.
Every time Israel responded to the attacks, even in the least aggressive manner, the world hollered for restraint from Israel, even if the target of the Israeli response was the TERRORIST who built the rocket, smuggled-in the rocket, ordered the rocket fired, or fired the rocket.
NO NATION ON EARTH WOULD EVER BE EXPECTED TO HAVE PUT UP WITH WHAT ISRAEL HAS PUT UP WITH FOR GENERATIONS!
But Israel has.
And to Israel’s great fault, putting up with these insults to humanity has been an insult to the memories of the victims of Inquisitions, Pogroms and the Holocaust.
Israel’s reluctance to fight back with all of its potential is what has invited the mess Israel finds itself in today.
But Israel is not without accomplices in this long-lived sorry drama.
Former President Bill Clinton resurrected Yasser Arafat from the politically dead in 1993 (Oslo), just to give Arafat, the father of modern TERRORISM the opportunity to begin a war with Israel, when at that time Israel and the Palestinians were at an unprecedented peace.
Clinton twisted Israel’s arm to accept the Oslo Agreement, and then the Camp David Agreement that showed the Arab world just how easily Jews could be manipulated.
Then there were the Israeli conciliators; all of whom bent over backwards to show how “civilized” they were, even in negotiations with savages.
Some of the greatest enemies to the future and safety of Israel have been Israel’s LEFTIST APPEASERS: Shimon Peres, Yitzhak Rabin, Ehud Barack and Ehud Olmert.
Ariel Sharon – Once revered as the BULL DOZER, when it came to defending Israel, gave away the Gaza Strip for nothing in exchange, but a delayed death sentence.
NO COUNTRY ON EARTH WOULD HAVE ALLOWED JUST ONE ROCKET TO BE FIRED ONTO ITS SOIL, LET ALONE THOUSANDS BEFORE RESPONDING IN FORCE.
No country on earth other than Israel that is, which is terrified to offend the Jew-Hating United Nations, and the not that much less anti-Semitic Europe.
As I watched a bit of CNN this evening, it was like deja-vu.
The talking-heads used all the usual buzzwords to paint their slanted LEFTIST picture of Israel.
Cycle Of Violence. Excessive Force. Innocent Victims. Disproportionate Response. And the usual demand for Israel to cease hostilities immediately.
Where were these voices when Israel was hit THOUSANDS of times by Arab Rocket Fire? What about excessive force, innocent victims, disproportionate response and a demand for the Arabs to cease hostilities immediately?
There never are voices when Israeli Jews are being murdered. There are voices ONLY when Israel fights back.
Now that Israel has decided to fight back, there is no turning back.
Israel cannot afford another debacle like the one it suffered in the Hezbollah Lebanese War in the summer of 2006.
Israel is without any choices whatsoever if it truly wants to survive. This could very well be Israel’s last best chance.
Israel MUST TOTALLY DESTROY HAMAS, and make Gaza utterly unlivable for the people who elected TERRORISTS to rain death upon Jews.
Hamas and the Palestinians, who elected Hamas, are the ONLY architects of what should be their own demise.
As Israel pummels Gaza, the world will scream. But Israel should not listen.
Instead, Israel must let the world understand that Jewish blood does not come cheap or easy. And the cost of attempting genocide against Jews is a cost that is too great to bear.
Let them understand that NEVER AGAIN – REALLY means NEVER AGAIN!
I fear this war will probably get much larger.
It will eventually include Hezbollah with Lebanon sucked-in for good measure. Jordan and Egypt will probably stay out of it. Syria will probably engage to try to win back the Golan Heights. While Israel does what it has to, to takeout Iran’s nuclear facilities as the grand finale.
If the rest of the Arab and Moslem world is smart, which is not their stock-in-trade, they would do very well to sit this battle out and let Hamas fall.
Any other choice will be a very big mistake.
This could be the war that will define the Middle East and the rest of the world for generations to come. Which will also be a war Israel and the civilized world cannot afford to lose.
To the RELIGIOUS RIGHT who believe in the Prophesy, this indeed could be the War of Armageddon.
It just doesn’t get simpler than this.

I always appreciate your views on the world, the USA and Canada. Though I am no fan of Obama, I must defend his sending US military personnel to Liberia. They are not sent there as medical personnel. They are developing the infrastructure for medical personnel to perform their work. Planes and trucks cannot deliver supplies to field hospitals because of poor roads and airports. The engineers of the USArmy will repair and make usable to transport aid to the stricken areas.
