Shame On CNN – AGAIN!

A Danish newspaper recently published several political cartoons containing images of Mohamed. All of which were satirical and politically incorrect.

That should be the end of the story. But it isn’t. It’s just the beginning.

The world of Islam is in an uproar.

HOW DARE THOSE INFIDELS ATTACK THE PROPHET?

THIS DEMANDS JIHAD!

KILL THE INFIDELS!

CREATE A FATWA!

RECALL OUR AMBASSADORS!

BOYCOTT EVERYTHING DANISH!

FIRE BULLETS INTO THE AIR!

I think I’ve covered most of it.

As it turns out, Islam doesn’t like when anyone touches Mohamed, not even drawing his image. To do so is a sacrilege, and a reason for war.

In response to these threats and pronouncements from Islamists worldwide: French, German, and Italian newspapers told the Islamists to shove-off, and reprinted the “offending” caricatures.

GOOD ON THEM!

The reason for these Europeans to thumb their noses at the Islamists is simple. FREEDOM OF SPEECH! A concept somewhat alien to Islamists.

As far as the French, the Germans and the Italians are concerned, Freedom of Speech trumps any type of religious beliefs, especially when that belief motivates people to do horrible things.

As for CNN: I was watching this lily-livered news network at lunch (February 2, 2006), telling the story of this Islamic outrage. And in their story, they mentioned that Arab/Moslem television stations, the likes of Al Jazeera, are showing the cartoons in an indiscernible pixilated version so as not to offend.

AND SO NOT TO OFFEND ISLAMISTS – THE CNN COWARDS DID THE SAME.

I’ve seen outrageous cartoons and caricatures of Israelis, Ariel Sharon, President Bush, and even Jesus Christ illustrated as part of legitimate news stories on CNN and other media, especially in print.

And that’s the way it is in a Democracy.

I proudly display some pretty aggressive and perhaps insulting political cartoons of myself on my office walls. I take the good with the bad. And I take pride in being noticed.

Unfortunately, not everyone, including CNN shares the same respect for Freedom of Speech as I do.

One of the cartoons in question, shows Mohamed at the gates of paradise yelling no, no, no to dead suicide murderers, because they’ve run out of virgins.

Now that’s funny. Too bad the Islamists have no sense of humor.

I wonder if CNN is more interested in Freedom of Speech than the amount of Arab/Moslem money that is invested in their media empire?

CNN is almost as disgraceful as the outraged Islamists, since they (CNN) want their audience to believe they are the voice of Democracy and defenders of Freedom of Speech. Bull-Shit!

They’re nothing more than opportunistic, hypocritical, cowards.

If the Western media (without CNN) really want to show their mettle; here’s what they should do:

All Worldwide Print Media, Television Stations, Radio Broadcasters, and Internet Bloggers like myself should tell this story, show the cartoons, or describe them in detail.

What will the Islamists and Arabs do – boycott the planet?

Have you heard the one about Mohamed wearing a turban with a bomb and a short fuse?

That’s just another one of the cartoons. And that sort of says it all.
