For those of you who don’t yet know who Lynsey Bennett is, she is the Canadian Beauty Queen who packed up her makeup and whatever else a Beauty Queen needs, and got the hell out of Nigeria, and away from the sectarian slaughter.
I saw and heard Lynsey on CTV news late last night. My first impression of her, was that she really is quite beautiful. She has long full blonde hair, a peaches and cream complexion, and a smile to light up the room. But alas, she opened her mouth, and there went the image.
Lynsey Bennett gave truth to two axioms. Canadians are kiss-ass appeasers. And Blondes are dumb. My apologies to all the blondes who were just painted with this wide brush. But; what is, is what it is.
The first words out of Lynsey’s mouth, to describe the events in Nigeria that led to the deaths of well more than 250 people, not to mention the woundings, maimings and property damage; was that it was the Miss World organizers’ fault for being insensitive to the Moslem festival of Ramadan.
So, if her logic is to be extended, it would also be the fault of Beauty Pageant contestants and organizers if fundamentalist Christians in the American Bible Belt went on a murder rampage, because they were offended by the image of mostly naked young women parading around seductively, if a Beauty Pageant was held in their back yard.
For all of Lynsey’s beauty, she is, in the words of Françoise Ducros, a moron.
There is absolutely no excuse in the world for riots and murders because someone’s religious sensitivities were tweaked, by someone else’s right not to be religious.
The reason why the world is at war against Islam (so far undeclared by our side), is precisely for that type of sick Islamic ideology that is driving the events in Nigeria.
The Islamist fundamentalists are nothing short of savages. They are an aberration to human kind. They are less than the dirt we walk upon. They are the scum that is found under the scum. And they deserve from us, nothing short of our entire derision.
Lynsey Bennett’s excuse for people who murder other people, simply because of their fundamentalist religious beliefs, has become the Canadian way.
Instead of just saying it like it is; that these murderous scum should be shot down like mad dogs, Lynsey is beset with the Canadian view that their murderous rampage was somehow OUR fault, because of OUR insensitivity to their religious beliefs.
What utter rubbish. You know the mind-set; like it’s the fault of the murdered Jewish child by the Palestinian suicide bomber, because Israel is a successful Western style democracy. That mind-set.
It is a good thing for Lynsey Bennett, that Beauty Queens are judged on the size of their boobs, opposed to the size of their brains. Otherwise, the best she could hope for in life, is to be asking if you want the fries and drinks super sized. More than that, I don’t think so.

Howard, you are ‘spot on’. I hope Sterling will ‘stay the course’ and FIGHT. The media has sunk to a new ‘low’ on this issue. As for ‘Al (not so) Sharpton’….why doesn’t someone just kick him to the curb…he is not worth the attention.
