Great editorial H.G. right on, you nailed it. My worry is Thune who is more of a RINO than a conservative. Congress needs to do away with the 60 vote, NOW.
Getting rid of the 60 vote requirement in the Senate goes directly against what our founding fathers intended. Without it, the party in power can do what Obama wanted to do, to fundamentally change the country from a constitutional republic to a democracy. We must revert the Senate rules to what they were before they instituted the “nuclear option.” It will make it harder to pass legislation that will give the democrats the power to change us into a single party dictatorship.
The sad truth is that our politics are so polarized that, for the first time in our history, we are faced with the “Hobbs choice” of doing away with traditional balances in our system of government, or facing ideological takeover by radical forces that previously have not existed! GOD HELP AMERICA!
