THE RIVER GULCHES WERE BONE-DRY – BUT THE SIGNS SAID IT ALL:
As Anne & I Drove Through Weather-Dry States Like Arizona, Nevada & Parts Of Texas, We Often Stopped the Car to Walk Along the Desert Paths, since the Topography is Like Nothing we Had Ever Seen on the Eastern Part of North America, Which Is A Huge Draw To Tourists.
We Spent 5-Years In Texas Hill-Country, which to us is a Touch of Heaven, and Throughout the Hill Country Roads & Walking Paths there are Danger-Signs Warning of Flash Floods, even through the Gulches or Gullies were Bone Dry or Had Just a Trickle of Water Running Through them, Not Much More Than Streams – The Danger Signs Were Ominous.
IT IS CALLED NATURE – WHEN LEFT ALONE . . . IT’S NO ONE’S FAULT:
The LEFTIST Media Is Champing At The Bit To Find Blame For The Tragedy That Befell Kerrville Texas & Area. Some Have Actually Blamed Trump. Some are Blaming Climate Change, Global Warming, Government Unpreparedness or Whatever-Else they Can Conjure-Up.
But There Is No-One To Blame . . . Nature Will Do – What Nature Will Do!
More Than Once In Texas, Anne & I Came Upon Closed Roads where Water on those Roads were Non-Existent when we Passed in One Direction, Yet, When we Returned Hours Later, the Same Roads were Plenty Flooded with Moving Water.
HERE ARE SEVERAL INVALUABLE LESSONS:
We Are A Self-Deluded Organism On The Planet We Call Home.
We Cannot Predict Everything. Nature Has Its Own Will. We Cannot Cause the Environment of the Planet to Move in One Direction or the Other. And as Much as We Want to Believe in our Omnipotence, we are No Greater an Influence to the Surface of Earth, the Skies Overhead or the Oceans that Gave us Life, Than Would Be Several Mosquitoes On The Skin Of An Elephant.
We Can Certainly Dirty-Up Some Of The Fresh Water We Drink & The Salt Water Of The Oceans. We Can Scar Small Areas of the Earth through Mining, Construction & Development. And we Can Pollute Some of the Air we Breathe.
But We are No More Capable of Changing the Climate, than we are of Controlling the Fall and the Rising of the Tides.
I GRIEVE FOR TEXAS’S LOSSES IN HUMAN LIVES & PROPERTY . . .
. . . But As I Had Conveyed In My Previous Editorial, it’s Time to Grieve, Lick our Wounds & Start the Job of Rebuilding. Unfortunately, this Travesty Wasn’t the First Time or the Last Time When Nature will Sneak-Up on us When we Least Expect-It, or Even When we are Facing it Head-On, And Delivers A Consequence Of Which Many Won’t Survive.
AMERICA IS NOT A DEMOCRACY!
For Those People Who Lecture Me From Time To Time That America Is Not A Democracy . . . You Can Save your Breathe, Since I Have Written Extensively that America is Not a Democracy, but Rather, America Is A Constitutional Republic.
Don’t Lecture Me . . . Lecture all of your Politicians & Probably all of your Academics, Including President Trump & His Cabinet, Who Constantly Refer To America As A Democracy.
I Can’t Count The Times I’ve Referred To Hitler’s Rise To Power Through The Democratic Process.
So, When I’m Writing, and Everyone Around me (Politicians & Media Pundits) Refer to America’s Freedoms as a Democracy . . . What Would You Have Me Call-It?
Here Is Another Issue . . . I Would be Willing to Bet that Most People Have No Idea, What the Difference is Between a Constitutional Republic and a Democracy, Including Some or Many Politicians, With The Exception Of The Type Of People Who Read Galganov.Com.
I Think One of the Problems that has Been Facing America for Many Generations, Certainly Since The Presidency Of Woodrow Wilson, is that the American LEFT Has been Working Hard to Change America from a Working Constitutional Republic, into Some Kind of Harmonized Democracy.
PLENTY OF GUILT TO GO AROUND:
Many Republicans Have Been Marching In Lockstep With The Democrats.
IN CANADA – I LIVE IN A DEMOCRACY:
I Live in a Country where the People are Free Once Every 4-Years Or So . . . When we Get to Vote in a Federal or Provincial Election for Members of Parliament, Who Will Actually Represent The Party As Opposed To The People.
In Essence . . . We Canadians Are Only Sort Of Free – And Only During The Day An Election Is Held. And Even then, in Canada, we Have No Such Thing as a Primary, Where the People Actually Get to Choose Who they Want to Represent them in Provincial or Federal Elections. It’s Pretty-Much All Up To The Party Insiders.
Given My Druthers . . . I Would Opt To Live In A Real Functioning Constitutional Republic.

Great commentary Howard. As for the unpredictable weather, when we toured the caves in Sonoma, we experienced both the beauty and violence of nature. Also agree that Canada’s political environment with the current scourge from the last 10+ years of liberal politics is very disturbing, worst I’ve seen in my life, also 75 years. I continue to hope for a non confidence vote.

At a young age I was told the difference between a republic and a democracy. This is a very poor example of a true democracy and republic but it is one that has stuck with me and that is what really matters. 2 guys and a gal were out walking. 1 guy said I want to have sex with the girl. She said no. The other man said let’s vote on it. In a democracy 2 to 1 wins. In a republic her No means no!
1. We grieve for the mass loss of so many young lives. 2. Thank you for saying “champing at the bit” in lieu of what we so often hear, ‘chomping’. 3. Got a chuckle out of Raymond Hansen’s analogy of a democracy vs republic in comments. 4. My understanding is that we are quite a distance away from what our founding fathers intended. I’ve read, years ago, that Republicans & Democrats are basically the same, but the Democrats are farther down the road. Eventually, I believe the USA is in for a rude awakening also…or a startling realization. Certain cans keep getting kicked down the road. As I see it we are a hybrid cross between capitalist,crony capitalist,socialist and as we found out with the scamdemic a little communist.
When I think of rushing water, my mind goes to Texas, and I feel so sick about the floods creating havoc and killing hundreds of people. In the Middle East there’s war. Deaths because of hatred towards Israel and Jews. In Texas, it’s “Mother Nature” attacking anyone and everyone. With tears flowing down, I feel so sad and so helpless. Texas is in my thoughts and in my prayers asking for God’s help.
Not knowing about the difference between a Constitutional Republic and a Democracy is all about citizenry ignorance and emotions. Mob rule is ultimately the result. Marx couldn’t be happier with Canada. We are devolving into a tyranny because of all the ( so called ) “ progressive “ votes. Pretty sad.
After watching the documentary “The Family” recently on Netflix, my political views are completely scrambled for the moment trying to take in some of what I heard. Most especially their reference about gay individuals, and this BS came from a so called follower of Jesus? And these same idiots still believe they can control the weather? With our FUNDS I might add. Prays to the families who lost children or loved ones. God didn’t cause this, but God will get them through it.
