Yesterday I drove 80 miles north and 80 miles south on a major highway in Utah. During my travels I witnessed nearly back-to-back 18 wheel tractors and trailers. I have not seen this kind of activity since Trump’s first term, and I see it as evidence of Trump’s efforts to stimulate our economy.
I used to think that Poilievre was a good choice. However he has failed to take power from the last election and before that with a consensus. Now I think he cannot do it and Canada needs a new Conservative leader. We need a statesman, not a dictator and a person who likes independent states, not a believer in one world of peace run by himself and his golf buddies.
I couldn’t understand why Trump would suggest that Canada should become our 51st State for precisely all the reasons you’ve mentioned Howard. I have family in Toronto, which I visit frequently, so I am very much aware of the antisemitism in Canada. I don’t want to insult my fellow readers of your blog, but antisemitism was always percolating under the surface in Canada, it’s only now that Canadians feel bold enough to show their hand when they know they have the backing of their government.
The Canada I’ve known for many years is just about gone. Election integrity, gone, elections Canada, corrupt, honest reporting, gone, integrity in policing, gone. Disgusting protests by organizations that hate us, disrupt every day life and condoned by politicians and police. Christen church’s burnt to the ground. Maybe the 51st state isn’t such a bad idea.
Canada is not the only place where antisemitism percolates under the surface. I have lived in the far East, Europe, Latin America, and now in the U.S. There has always been antisemitism percolating just under the surface, and in many instances blatantly right ON the surface.
The only place for us to go is Israel. The more of us who return to Israel, the smaller the Israeli Jewish Left will be. Diaspora Jewish Lefties are likely uninterested in making Aliyah.
It pains me to admit that my government would actually be antisemitic. My family is NOT anti Israel or antisemitic. I do not understand where any of this garbage comes from. I can only, for now, let my MP know that in no way will I support the WEF communist manifesto and punishing Israel for defending itself. As for the Conservative party and toning down its leader. That did not work. Bring back the pitbull Pierre. Don’t listen to the corrupt Canadian media or the Canadian swamp.

When Carney won this election both my husband & I said I really don’t want to live in a Canada of Carney’s making…where people are afraid of their religion as it could get you killed…or your thoughts that could get you put in jail.
