The Canadian MSM right now are broadcasting a close race before the election campaign has even started. Pretty stupid. It’s like Kamala vs Trump all over again. Pollievre isn’t no empty suit like Carney and Kamala. I’m predicting a solid Conservative majority. Hey Howard. The big Liberal jump can probably be largely explained by the two month lovefest drooled over by the major media that was the Liberal Leadership convention. Some questions there. Qualified voters needed to be over 14 years old, no citizenship requirements. Pretty soft eh. Nevertheless 60% were disqualified so Carney was selected by 115,000 voters. Also Carney is very prettily packaged and very little selected info is allowed to emerge. We’ll see if the plastic surgery holds up.

Scott Risher is absolutely right. Canadians don’t vote for the Prime Minister. Following the British parliamentary tradition, they vote for their local Member of Parliament. It is the total of these votes that determines who will “earn” the top spot and who will form the official opposition and so on.
