Years Ago . . . During the Second Quebec Referendum (1995) for the Mostly French Speaking Province of Quebec to Leave Confederation (Canada) . . . There Arose Several Groups & Individuals . . . Who Took-On The Fight For The National & Linguistic Rights Of Non-French Quebecers.

I Was One Of Those People Who Rose From Nowhere To Fight The Good-Fight.

It Became Fashionable for Many People who Came Forward to Fight Against the Ethnocentric (Racist) Quebec Government. Unfortunately Though . . . Of The Small Army of Supposed Pro-Canadian Freedom-Fighters . . . Most Were Flashes In The Pan, while Some Used the Turmoil because of Ego Impulses, Some to Raise Personal Money & Others to Advance their Own Socio/Political Benefits.

“Out Of Many – One” . . . Which References How 13-Disparate Colonies at the Time of the American Revolution, Came Together As One – To Fight the British Crown for the Constitutional Independence of the 13-Colonies (States), Despite Rhode Island, which Didn’t Present a Signatory Nor Send a Constitutional Delegation.

Out Of Twelve Participating Colonies – Only 39-Men Signed The Constitution On September 17, 1787.

But That Is Not Where it Began . . . It Was On July 4, 1776 – When a Diverse Group of British Colonists in America, Some of Whom were People you Wouldn’t Want to be Friends with, Some were Farmers, Merchants, Businessmen & Professionals, Who All Signed The Declaration Of Independence For Various Reasons, which Started the Greatest Political Revolution Known to Man.

“Out Of Many – One” . . . Which Is True. But What Is Also True . . . Out Of Many – Few.

In the Unvarnished Truth of the Declaration of Independence and the Signing of the US Constitution, there was a Huge Number of Colonialists who Sided with the British, Many of Whom Made their Way to Canada, Known In Canada As The Loyalists.

Even At That . . . Many Americans Who Chose to Stay on the Southern Side of the 49th Parallel (US Canada Border) . . . Weren’t The Patriots We’d All Like To Think They Were.

In Historical Fact . . . General George Washington had a Terrible Time Recruiting Soldiers, Never Had Enough Money to Finance his Army & Eventually Relied on the Generosity & Military Help from France to Turn the Tide.

But Here’s Another Truth . . . Had It Not Been For A Very Diverse Rag-Tag Band Of Patriots, who left their Farms, Jobs, Careers & Families to Weather the Slings & Arrows Forged Against them by the Greatest Military in the World at that Time – America Would Never Have Been Created.

These Patriots Offered-Up Their Lives, Comforts & Fortunes To Fight For The Ideal Of Freedom.

GREAT VICTORIES ARE MORE OFTEN THAN NOT . . . THE MOTHER OF THE FEW:

In Essence . . . From Many Comes A Few . . . But The Right Few Are More Than Enough.

Anne, Tavor & I Had A Wonderful Lunch Yesterday With A True Freedom Fighter.

His Name Is Brent Tyler, Who Unlike Posers . . . Brent Built a Persona as a Canadian Freedom Fighter, Brent Was The Real Deal.

Brent & I were Never Really Friends, More than we were Kindred Spirits in the Fight for Freedom of Expression in any Language which a Person Wanted to Use to Express himself or herself, Against the Law in the Province of Quebec, Where the Only Acceptable“Official Language” for Corporate & Social Use is French.

WE NEVER GOT TOGETHER AS FRIENDS – NOT ONCE . . . UNTIL YESTERDAY:

We Didn’t Know of Each Other Before the Fight Really Started Against Quebec’s Mistreatment of Civil Rights & Freedoms, Freedoms which were Abandoned by Ottawa (English Rights In Quebec) that Eventually Led to our Getting Together.

To Describe Brent Tyler . . . Brent is a Robust Man, who in My Opinion (And The Opinion Of Others) – As A Lawyer . . . Brent was One of Canada’s Top Constitutionalist Lawyers . . . Who Surrendered his Security, his Corporate Practice & More than I will Mention . . . To Fight 24/7 Against The Quebec Government’s Desecration Of Canada’s Supposed Freedoms.

Today . . . Brent Is Retired & No Longer Practicing Law – But Without Lawyers and a Smattering of Real Freedom Fighters like Brent Tyler, Myself and a Handful of Others . . . There Would Have Been No-One To Stand For The Little Guy Against The Extreme Overreach Of The Quebec Government.

We All Paid A Price . . . That Has Scarred-Us For Life.

THEY DIDN’T WANT TO ROCK THE BOAT:

We Were All Attacked, Not just from our Enemies Amongst Ethnocentric Quebecois Nationalists (Racists) which we Expected, but Remarkably, from our Own English Media, which Pretended to be for Freedom of Expression, but Really for Freedom of their Own Ability Not to Really Get Into the Fight, and for them to Continue Receiving Government Largesse.

Then There Were The Sniping Attacks From English Sell-Out Groups . . . which Pretended to be People of Reason, who Could Make Everything OK by Conciliation (Appeasement) with the Government (That Financed Them As Though They Were NGO’s) . . . A Government Sworn to Remove all English Rights in Quebec, while French Rights Across the Rest of Canada were Being Promoted at Hyper-Speed.

Here’s The Bottom Line . . . Brent, I & A Few Others Made a Difference. But at a Price that was Too High for Just Several Men &Women to Bear. But Nonetheless We Never Quit Until The People Quit On Themselves.

We Have Fought The Ethnocentric Quebec Government . . . But it Became Near Impossible for us to Fight our Own English Media, our Own English Sell-Outs and a Population that was Content to Pat-Us on our Backs without Really Getting Involved.

I Had A Huge Following . . . Partly Because I Ran at the Quebec Government Head-On. And Partly Because I Later Hosted my Own Very Aggressive No-Holds-Barred Popular Radio Talk Show. And I Had A Lot Of People Who Helped With Money . . . But Never Enough & Always By The Same People.

IF There Was A Court Case – It Was More Likely Than Not That I Was Financing It.

But – It Was Brent, With My Help Or Not . . . Also More Likely Than Not, Who was Fighting the Fight Pro-Bono so as Not to Allow Victims (Targets) of Quebec Government Ethnocentrism to Stand Alone Without a Champion.

I Held Many Rallies, which Always Attracted Hundreds & Very Often a Thousand or More People to Fight for Civil Rights & Liberties . . . However, A Thousand Should Have Been Tens Of Thousands.

How Can A Rally To Fight For Your Freedoms Be Compared To A Parade?

The Montreal Santa Claus Parade & the Montreal Saint Patrick’s Day Parade . . . Each Attract Hundreds of Thousands of Spectators & Participants. It Certainly Made me Think About where the People’s Priorities were.
